Root virgin media remove root

Hi sorry for butting in hope im posting this in the right thread but here goes.
i have a desire on VM 2.1 update i managed to root the phone using unrevoked 3 ,since then i have messed around with a few diffrent roms then restoring the phone back to the rooted stock rom. The problem i have now is i can not get the video recorder to work it starts recording for a few seconds then freezes and the resets the phone.i have tried a factory reset and deleting all the recorded video but its still the same.
i have a feeling this is a hardware problem now and i may need to return it to VM as the phone is less than 1 month old. Here comes my next problem after reading loads of posts and downloading the VM stock rom i still can not get it to unroot.
any help would be great

You will need a vm RUU I think. Connect via HTC sync and running the RUU from a pc. This will remove root.

There are Unrooting methods but not sure if it is the above or something else. Search the forum for virgin media RUU though. Not sure if one exists

Hi thanks for the reply and moving my post
i have managed to download a VM RUU but its an .exe file and it refuses to work i need some way of tuning it into a zip file so i can launch it of the sd
any ideas?

No, like I said, you run it from your PC with your phone connected to HTC sync. You may need to put it in usb debugging mode.

Why do you want to remove it?
What rom are you running now?

- Installed it via Unrevoked method.
- Sending it back to HTC / Virgin Media to get it repaired / replaced - It keeps randomly rebooting on its own.
- I'm running OpenDesire 0.4 or some other recent variation with a "4" in the name.
- Yeah, It's rooted.

Ah, thanks. And is it possible to root the Desire running stock 2.2? If not I'll just stick 2.1 back on.

So yeah, basically download the Virgin Media RUU which will replace everything.

When you get it back, you may be able to root using the latest Unrevoked.
