Hey guys, longtime lurker first time poster. (By the way, when it says it only takes a couple of seconds to register it wasn't lying!)

When I dial ##7764726 on my phone it prompts to enter the password, 0000000 no longer works. Is this an issue with 2.2 in general or just KaosFroyo? Are there any known solutions? I've searched quite extensively and I can't find anything. Thanks!

stargazer,

Welcome to the Android Forums. It sounds like this is what you are experiencing: http://androidforums.com/eris-all-things-root/172988-programming-menu.html (I'm not familiar with these program codes, but your post sounded familiar to the one I listed).

If so, you might have to temporarily flash a 2.1 ROM to change your settings and then Nand restore your 2.2 ROM.

Thanks for the help! Any word on a good 2.1 rom to flash back to? Also, by Nand restore I just select the Nand backup option from my bootloader right? And after I've changed the settings restore by backup?

No problem.

PlainJaneT2 ([ROM]Plain_JaneT2 V2.0 7/18/10 Stock With everything ROOT!! - xda-developers) or xtrSense ([ROM][9/21/2010][GPL] xtrSENSE4.2 & 4.5[cache2cache,apps2sd,oc,jit,flash10]-HTC Sense - xda-developers) should be fine, I would imagine.

You should:

- download your selected 2.1 ROM and place on the top-level of /sdcard

- boot into Amon_RA's custom recovery

- make a good Nandroid backup of your current setup (i.e., make sure you have a full-charge on your battery); from Amon_RA's recovery menu: Backup/Restore -> Nand Backup -> press trackball to confirm

- after the backup successfully completes, press volume-down button to return to the main menu

- now, do your wipes before flashing your temporary ROM: Wipe -> Wipe data/factory reset; then press volume-down to return to the Wipe menu and also select Wipe Dalvik-cache

- press volume-down button to return to the main menu

- select Flash zip from sdcard and select your temporary 2.1 ROM

- after the flash completes, return to the main menu and reboot

After you've booted and done your reprogramming, just reboot into custom recovery and select: Backup/Restore -> Nand Restore and you'll be prompted to select which Nandroid backup to restore (it should be the most recent BDS-ccyymmdd-hhmm directory (the hhmm time should be about 4 or 5 hours off of your current time (it must be GMT, I think)); press the trackball to confirm.

After the restore completes, just return to the main menu and reboot to where you were before you started (except you'll have done the programming changes).

Note that you do not have to do any wipes before you do a Nandroid restore.

Good luck!

Per punk.kaos, "The problem is that we don't have an EPST.apk that works on Froyo yet, so none of the programming codes work. That'll get fixed when we get a working 2.2 EPST."
