Help Trouble taking a video on droid x

I tried taking a video on my droid x and the camcorder opened fine, but when i tried to record the video it just went back to the homepage...

help please

Did you guys just get your phones? Mine had problems with the camera and camcorder apps when I first got it, like force closes when I try to take a picture, and a couple of times, when I tried to take a pic, the phone rebooted itself. But then I had to do a factory reset a couple days after I got it, and I've had zero problems since then. I think it was the dial #228 option 1 reset. God, I hope that's the right number!

Dialing *228 and selecting option one will reprogram your phone. Option two updates roaming capabilities. Considering the topic, you're probably referring to option one.

I've performed a factory reset and haven't had it happen again, FWIW

My X is doing this now. It's been fine since the OTA update, but now the camcorder closes every time I try to start recording. I have done a factory reset (the right way, without google backup automatically reloading everything) and I still have this issue. I know a reboot fixes it for a while, but my kids usually won't stop whatever they are doing and wait for that. Sucks.

powering off the phone will fix it

I was having the same problem with the camcorder. Whenever I would start a video capture, the camcorder would exit. Power cycling fixed it -- at least for now.

I just purchased my Droid X and when I'm taking video at night using the light feature, one of the lights will shut off or just blink while the other light stays on. My battery is charged at 100%; this issue is a problem because you can see that the light is blinking when I play the video back.

Any advice or suggestions before I take the phone back for another Droid?
