Oh man...top 5 only? I have MORE than 5 apps I love and use!!! lol

In order:
1) LP+ <--$2.99 I get cool sense like widgets
2)SystemPanel Pro<--$2.99 It helps me monitor all of my apps
3)Widget Locker <--$1.99 I love this app. The ability to put widgets on my lock screen...priceless
4)Mini Info Donate<--$1.99 quick glace at battery life %, SD and internal memory left
5)Note Everything Pro<--$2.99 best note app (bad widget)

Except for widget locker, all these apps have a free version. I love these apps so much that I either bought the app or donated to suppor the developer :)

People should also say why the applications are in their top 5 as well!!!

Might I suggest stearing clear of any Task Killing app? Android is NOT windows. It really really really doesn't need, or benefit from a task killer. They can cause problems (battery life, alarms etc) and give no benefit.

You might suggest that. Or you might realize that many android users have different ROMs on their phones that react differently to task killers than what you've experienced. Some report much better performance using task killers. If you don't that's fine. I don't have a particular affinity to them myself, just sayin'...

1. Happy Hours - Find happy hours near you using GPS! It tells you the hours and specials. Must have when trying to find a happy hour on the weekend.

2. DroidLight - I know flashlight apps are a dime a dozen but I can't believe how often I end up using it.

3. Lightning Bug - I need white noise when I sleep, so when I am traveling this thing is great and has great features and GUI.

4. SetCPU - Must have for Overclockers. Profiles make balancing power and battery life very effective

5. Napster - $10 a month is a con but its so nice being able to play just about any song you want anytime you want. Has some bugs still.

8. HTC_IME keyboard (custom themed by me)
9. RingDroid
10. Google apps (navigation, voice, etc, couldn't live without these!)
