Left the Eris, got an Incredible

Hey,

Was a relatively proud owner of the Eris, mainly because of the ability to root and flash KaosFroyo which breathed new life into my Eris, but after 3 replacements, Verizon was nice enough to send me an Incredible upon my sincere request.

Just got the Incredible yesterday, and it felt good to be able to run Sense on normal speeds again. All the apps I've missed were back!

Was able to successfully root, s-off and full nand. For the sake of doing it, I flashed Cyanogenmod but immediately missed sense, although CM opens up so many options.

Therefore, I flashed the Virtuous ROM and am loving it!

Just wanted to share and join the club of the proud owners of the DINC. Hoping to make some contributions to the Incredible community as I tried to with the Eris.

Welcome to the Club jsuh!, I as well was curtiously upgraded by Verizon from the Eris to the Incredible. I go to keep and sell old Eris($150 at the time) and all I had to do was ddrop my existing contract, (Ihda about 8 months left) and open a new two year. all free of coarse. well worth it IMO. this will last easily two years. and if not, I bet this will let me early upgrade or use another family members upgrade

Welcome! I have to recommend Frankenrom by adrynaline. You can look up his roms by going to the top of the forum and clicking on androidforums.com. That will bring you to the main page, scroll down about 3/4 and look for developers then click on his UN. Its a really really good rom. Im pretty sure he made virtuitous too.

You shouldn't suggest rooting to someone until they have thoroughly read and learned everything needed to root. it does void their warranty and not everyone has the know-how to return back to stock. research must be done.

Not to mention many users won't get any real benefit from rooting.

I switched from Eris a couple weeks ago. The DInc is definitely the best phone I've ever owned.
