I am in need of a good, secure account manager app. The Moxier Wallet looks exactly like what I need (free version, not premium), but could use some feedback from other Android users who are using Moxier Wallet.

1. Does it require me to get an account with Moxier to use the free version, or can I start using the app right away? I just want to store data on my phone, not have it sync to some 3rd party cloud storage or get annoying messages to upgrade.

2. What does the self-destruct option do & how initiated?

3. What are the app permissions when downloaded?

4. Is it really encrypted?

Any other feedback from Moxier Wallet users would be appreciated so I can make a decision as to whether to get this or not. I tried searching for reviews online, but mostly got descriptions of the app, not useful feedback from users. I am comfortable with putting account numbers on my phone just as long as I have 100% control over access, but I definitely do not want data sent out to some 3rd party automatically...I am just looking for storage on my phone with a solid UI, no sync ability. any feedback would be appreciated, thanks

I settled on Moxier wallet after trying SplashID and the eWallet Viewer. I also tried B-Folders, WalletPro and a couple other apps.

Moxier wallet was the best solution out there, although I still regard SPB Wallet for WM as the best mobile solution for Wallets. Moxier had the best combination of user interface, ease of syncing and ability to customize the information fields of all of the products I looked it.

1) I do not recall having to create an account until I wanted to upgrade to the Premium service level ($20/year).

2) The self-destruct feature will erase all of the data in the app's database and is initiated when an invalid password is used a certain number of concurrent times. You can configure the number of allowed attempts before self-destruct is invoked or simply not use the feature.

3) I can't remember the app permissions, but you will be able to review them in the market before installing the app.

4) I have not found the app's database on my phone to check, but I would think someone one have already exposed that flaw if it were not true.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

I’m with the Moxier team. Allow me to respond to your questions.

1. No, you are not required to set up an account to use the free version. We do not have ads or annoying popup messages, simply one message that pops up if you press the sync button and are not logged in and a login status message that informs users if they are online or offline.
2. Self-destruct erases all your data after a specific number of incorrect password attempts (5, 10, or 15). You can turn this feature on or off in Settings.
3. Permissions are: 1) Internet access so you can tap and launch saved websites from the app, and tap a saved address to map it online. 2) SMS and phone access so you can tap and call saved phone numbers on the app (Customer service numbers, etc.), and tap a saved email address to send an email.
4. Yes, we use AES-256, which is U.S. government-grade encryption, and your data is encrypted locally on your device only.

We have a solid, easy-to-use UI as well as templates to get you started. You can also create your own templates. For more information, please visit moxier.com | Robust Software for Productive People. FYI, we also have a free Android weather app, Moxier World.

Thanks for choosing Moxier Wallet!

Hi,

Thank you very much for the recommendations!

There are two items that are not available in the Android version. The CSV option is only available in our Mac & PC versions. And direct device-to-device syncing is not yet available in our Android version, but will be added in future updates. You can, however, perform record-to-record syncing to your online account and then sync other devices to your online account.

Thanks again!

Update: As of yesterday, Moxier Wallet for Android now supports device-to-device syncing.

I have installed Moxier Wallet on both my PC and my HTC Desire. They work perfectly together. Both online and device synchronization work fine. The UI is excellent.

I have a question about the free version to which my version will convert after some time. I understand that online sync is no more possible. But is it still possible to have device to device sync? If not, no sync at all is possible, which would make the free version pretty useless.
