Help Merge Calls

Has anyone been able to Merge calls (where I call Person A and then place them on hold while I call Person B and then on the menu I merge it into one call and we can all hear each other)

When I had the HTC Hero It didnt work, and now on the Desire it doesnt work :/

I have a branded Orange 2.2 Desire non rooted.

Could someone explain to me if theres settings I have to do ?

I can, i'm on O2 and have enabled Call Waiting.

Settings> Calls>Additional Settings>Call Waiting.

I dont mean call waiting. I actually mean 3 people on one phone call sort of like a conference call.

Steven, when you make a call, do you see a button that says 'add call' to the left of the red 'end call' button? If not, click on menu and 'add call'. When you add the other caller (first caller is put on hold), on you screen you'll see both users you're calling to, and you see an option to 'merge calls'

It depends if your operator supports it, I'm pretty sure most don't for personal contracts, but some support it for business contracts...

I'm with o2, and never been able to do it, on any phone...

On the EVO it is easy, while on a call hit the menu button (you will still be talking to other person during this process too, which is nice) then press the add call dial the number and hit call both calls show on the screen and a merge calls button shows up. you can either flip back and forth between calls or merge them.

Now once they are merged I cannot figure out how to hang up on only one of them. If one of the two people hangs up you are good, but you can't seem to hang up on one, it always hangs up both.

Some people have noted that it really only hangs up on one and if you just wait the phone will ring you back with the other person still on the line, but that has never happened for me.
