I was deleting some photos that my Droid X automatically uploaded from my laptop (does anyone know how to stop this?) and accidentally deleted photos that I had taken with my droid camera. I'm still trying to figure out how to save photos from my droid to my laptop so they weren't backed up.

1. Are there any recovery utilities I can use to recover my pictures?

2. Is there a good manual (better than the one verison offers) that will tell my how to do things like sync to google and troubleshoot some other connection problems I'm having?

Thanks,

Jim

i didnt understand a lot of that, but i think i'm starting to get it.

you can find the full PDF manual on verizonwireless.com/support
it is pretty large, you you may want to save it instead of printing the whole thing.

they easiest way to back up photos (imo) is to connect your phone to your computer in mass storage mode, and just drag and drop. if you do it that way, nothing will happen automatically. you physically have to choose what files go where.

Thanks, I didn't understand how to use mass storage and was having trouble transferring files. I think the original problem started when I used the "media sync" option instead of the mass storage option which turned out to be what I really wanted.
