Root Backing up

Hi all

I have rooted my desire using the latest Unrevoked and have flashed with Leedroid 2.2d. All went well thanks to the brilliant forums.

My question is....do i need to keep the Leedroid 2.2d zip file on the SD card? if I remove it and something goes wrong can I reload everything using recovery and the "nandroid" backup I have taken (also have a titanium backup) or is the zip file needed ??

Thanks in advance :D

if you recover, does it take you to pre-rooted format (for waranty purposes) and is it possible to do so from 2.2?
Restoring from a nandroid backup will take you to whatever state your phone was in when the backup was made. This won't be the pre-rooted state, as you have to be rooted to make a nandroid.

If you want to unroot and return to official firmware you want an RUU. There are different RUUs for different android versions, regions, and for network-customised firmware, so you need to pick the right one. A good place to find these is Shipped ROMs (there's another list for CMDA versions of the phone, such as Verizon handsets, elsewhere on that site). This thread should tell you how to use the RUU:

or search this forum - there's usually a fairly recent thread discussing such matters :)
