Music Players and Battery Consumption

Hello all.

I've been trying some music players and went through the threads we have here on the subject. I'm trying to figure out if some players will drain the battery faster than others.

I've tried the TW Player, Winamp, MusicMod. I like MusicMod the best (I believe its a modification of the Froyo AOSP player) but it seems to drain the battery pretty fast. I've been using it for about 4 hours and went from 100% to 38%.

What are your experiences with battery drain and music players?

Thanks!

I use the stock music player and battery drain is incredibly low. I do not have much experience with it but when I have used it, it seemed to barely effect the level my battery was at by the end of the day. I'm talking about a couple hours of straight use as well. I'd imagine it would depend a lot on how often you wake up your screen to change songs.

i use the stock one also. when i do yardwork i will play music for more than 2 hours. by the time i turn it off i will be at 83ish%. also i used the winamp player last week instead and it had probably dropped 5% more than usual. i dont know if there are any things im overlooking that may be causing it but it definitely happened

Not music, but early September while traveling, and still relatively new to captivate, I used a free White Noise app with earbuds to sleep. I thought it would drain my battery like crazy. Woke up hours later and still had nearly full battery.

Edit: started white noise at about 2-3 AM. Woke up about 5-6, turned it off, continued sleep.

Sounds like a cool app!
