Official List of Post 2.0.1 Issues

On the other side, I've had much better battery life since receiving the update and actually like the new unlock screen which I think is a little more classy and streamlined than the 2.0 one.

Have you noticed any speed increase / decrease in both the time to load pages? What about lag when scrolling on graphically intensive pages?

I just loaded the Android Central home page which had a lot of graphics on it in about 14 seconds complete. I tried scolling up and down the page like a DJ spinning a record back and forth and the flow back and forth was instant and smooth. Now on the load time, I do use WIFI most of the time when surfing at home but that wouldn't have an effect on the scrolling.

What we really should do is have everyone who is having issues list their applications and see if those with similar issues have any background applications running in common. Perhaps everyone running application X has the laggy KB input. Everyone running application Y has extreme browser lag. Just a thought...

Or if someone wanted to really go out on the edge, reset to stock and wipe out all the apps and see if anything changes. If everything runs fine, re-add the apps one at a time to see if any single app changes the behavior. Pain in the butt, I know, but it doesn't appear that there are many (if any) negative pieces of the 2.0.1 update that affect everyone. That tells me either apps are interfering or there is a very wide range of hardware sources for the Droid hardware and there are inconsistencies between their adherence to Moto specs.

Ever since 2.01 my droid seems touchy and exits to the home screen for no good reason. I see this often in games. AT first I thought maybe I was touching the screen but I've proven that tapping on the edge of the unit between the volume and camera button causes the issue. I'm assuming the update did something with the accelerometer sensitivity and callback functions. Another new bug ...

immediately after the update, i had two crashes (phone went black and turned off), two experiences where NO icons appeared after unlocking, a bug where the camera would force close upon switching to camcorder, and a variety of telephone goofiness (screen going black .5 seconds after it lights up, so i couldn't hang up or press buttons, that sort of thing).

The good news: they've all resolved themselves since then. i've been updating my apps at every opportunity, so it may be that they're causing some of the problems. and I don't use Slacker or Dolphin....

I recall reading that most of the update was dedicated to app developers and they're obviously working through the weekend...

After the update (OTA) my email (IMAP) stopped working. It says "The application Email (process com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." And then asks me to Force Close.

It worked flawlessly before the update. I've done the usual (reboot, remove battery, delete account) ... nothing! I'm still looking into it! Gmail still works. Everything else is super!

I just noticed something with my 2.0.1 phone - I set the screen timeout to 2 minutes yesterday after getting the update. It switched itself to 1 minute. I just went in and set it back to 2 minutes. Will keep an eye on this and see if it sets itself back.

May possibly be related to Locale, but will check the settings for 'Default'. I don't think it has the option to set the screen timeout, though.

I have verified this was in fact being caused by Locale.

God damn, this thread exploded. Given the back and forth, does it make sense to set up a wiki page, where everyone can edit and revise? The randomness and amount of these problems is pretty unnerving.

I too have turned on my Droid, especially after a full power down, to a wallpaper with no icons (though clearly they are there as I'm getting Gmail notifications and such). I do a battery pull and it came back.

I don't want a phone that leaves me on edge, wondering when it will crash or behave unexpectedly next.

If we can get an organized list of issues, perhaps we can get them to Verizon/Google quickly and have them address them.

Sounds like no one has come across this yet on this forum, lucky you. I had to swap out my phone for a new one today, my old one did get the OTA update and the new one had 2.0.1. After syncing back up with Google, I went to the market place to re download the apps I purchased and 75% of them do not show up in the list. Not only do they not show in my download list, I can search for them. One example is MyBackupPro. The only option I have is to download the free version so I download it and click "buy" from the app. It takes me to the market place but then I get an error that the application cannot be found

The only reason I mention this in this thread is that it's apparent that not all phones are the same for whatever reason -- even before the updates... so for potential purchasers reading about the goods and bads -

I had the exact same perception on my initial examination. The demo phones at the verizon stores I visited were total crap. none of the soft buttons at the button functioned without pressing them like 3 or 4 times.

My phone worked perfectly out of the box, as did most peoples.

The hard keyboard is horrible compared to all others I have used. The biggest issue is the keys are mostly flat and not raised.

I'm sure there will be a droid 2 where they correct that.

I too am having a problem with the keyboard and haptic keys not lighting up. Even in tota darkness, but it isn't all the time just part of the time and some times hiting the top button off then back on fixes it but not always. Since the update( and I waited for the OTA one impatiently) When I am am on a call I get a constant clicking like when u were on a landline and someone picked up the other handset. It is annoying, and when I first answer noone can hear me for a couple seconds. Can u Hear me now aaaahhhhh LOL:p

Since the update (I let verizon pick the time for it, not sure what category that falls in), I now get the message "this application is not installed on your phone" when pressing the Gallery button. I can see all the photos from the camera application, but not Gallery. This is problematic.

And, while its a third party app, just to mention K-9 Mail (which I needed to view my RoadRunner POP3 mail, as the native email app wouldn't fetch it), no longer works.

And I have to say, the new unlock mechanism is FAR inferior for my hands than the original. I have long fingers, and the arc motion fit my thumb or index finger very well. This new, strictly horizontal movement requires that I always use two hands. NOT convenient. Please change that back, or give me a choice.

I get multiple updates in the marketplace. Has done this since the update. Can't seem to find a fix. Every other day, the same update. Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried deleting apps and reinstalling them but it just keep happening. I saw a dedicated thread for this but can't seem to find it now. Thanks.

Outside this issue. My Droid has been flawless.
