Uh oh, need help...I was trying to install a custom Launcher Pro from here:
[THEME|MOD] 11.01.10 signals23 LauncherPro 0.8.1.1 widgets - xda-developers

And I uninstalled my stock version of LP so I could install the new version...only problem is I already uninstalled the ADW that came with RubiX...now I have no home launcher and can't access my app drawer to get into Astro to install the new LP. How do you power off and power back into reboot recovery so I can restore my last backup?

I notice that sometimes when I am having trouble booting into Android, where your boot logo stays on even though BEHIND the screen the OS is in fact up and running, I have to pull the batt. MULTIPLE times to fix it...

During this process, it sometimes jumps into clockwork recovery. Maybe it has to due with pulling during a specific part of the boot process or something, I am not sure.

Maybe some batt pulls during boot can get you there... if not just SBF and load a backup. Hope this helps.

this is tough to fix on the X. Can you get into clockwork recovery via a battery pull or does it just reboot?

Do you have adb setup on your computer?

If your answer is no to both of the above you will probably have to sbf

Nope, it just reboots every time. Can't I power down and power back up holding volume down and home or something like that to go in clockwork recovery?

Sh*t I feel like such an idiot...I knew I wouldn't have a home launcher for a brief period but thought I could access my application list somehow...

Pressing home + pwr will only take you to the Moto recovery :(

Now that I think about it, I wasn't as stupid as I thought because the only reason I uninstalled both LP and ADW was because I also had Open Home Light. My phone would sometimes go to that launcher and there were home screens, app drawer, everything. So I was thinking it would just default to that and I could go in and install LPP. Not sure why it didn't.

2 things of note...

1, I find if I pull the battery and leave it out for a minute, my phone is more likely to boot into clockwork.

2, I keep the clockwork zip file in the root of my SD and labeled it "update.zip", just in case something like this happens to me. Boot into moto's recovery and run it...bam, I'm into clockwork and can flash a nandroid.

LOL, I will as soon as I get everything back up the way it was...this happened right before I had to go to work, will take me a while to set it up again.

The main difference is really just that the widgets are themed differently, but the reason I like it is it gives you blue notifications for unread messages, etc., instead of red. You can find it on xda developers forum if you search a little, I just don't have the exact address right now.

So all the file does is just send you to clockwork recovery? I would like to have this...would you mind directing me to where I can get this file or upload it if its not somewhere to download? Thanks!

Sorry, I think I was wrong. What I have doesn't work like I thought it did. Just tested booting into Moto recovery and applying the zip...failed. Rebooted and the phone booted right up. But if I apply it from clockwork, it reinstalls clockwork and boots back into clockwork.

I'm confused on what i have and why i have it.

I think if you were using google to backup your apps and data, then you could have just wiped data, then re-registered and it would have downloaded one of your launchers for you? Or would this have not worked because you removed them already?

I believe there is also a trick to firing up the market without launcher (I can't remember it right now but I know someone asked this before and there was a way to trick the phone into launching the market app). I think it may also have involved a data reset. I wish I could remember.
