Hi guys! I couldn't find a thread that addressed this, sorry if it's been asked before!

Here is my question: Is there a way to display the EXACT time of a call or text on the Ally and not just have it say 'yesterday' or '2 hours ago', etc. I can't find it in any settings and I can't seem to find an app for it. With my job I have to fill out a very detailed field report requiring exact times I spoke with someone, did something, etc. and I used to use my text messages as a way to keep record of this. If there is a way to do this it could make my life much easier!

Thanks!

Disclaimer: After reading several posts here I see that I'm pretty technologically impaired in the span of droid users, so go on and treat me like I don't understand you're computer lingo because you're probably right. No offense will be taken!

Can you not select each entry in the call log (by tapping on the entry) to show the details. You can on my N1 and I assume that this would be standard.

Failing that you could try one of the apps that sync the call log to a specified Google Calendar - I assume they would specify the detail (note I've not tried them myself).

I tried the Txtract one (that send you a log of all your texts) to get the log and it worked once but didn't after that (I see I'm not the only one with that problem), but the log it sent me the first time had all the exact times so I know they are all stored.. I will investigate other apps, thanks for the reply. Do you have any suggestions for a good one that links to the calendar? I am pretty new to the smartphone thing and still kind of unsure what's what!

And I've tried clicking individual ones with no luck. It's the texts I need, not the calls, as I can only text while on the job, and the texts are in threads and I'm unable to select specific ones.

Ah ok.

I was looking at the calls because of

For texts, try SMS Backup+ SMS Backup + - Android app on AppBrain
You can use this to backup your texts to your Gmail account, and then pick them up as emails. They are logged with date and time sent / received.

This should do what you want, and make it really easy to print out your calls:
CallTrack - Android app on AppBrain

Before you start using it, add another calendar to your Google Calender called "Phone Calls", because it doesn't update your available calendars once you log in, and you'll have to reinstall it to get new calendars.

I've been using it for months and it doesn't keep the phone awake; I often forget about it, but it's always there when I need it.
