I synced my phone with Facebook for some reason, and now every friend I have on Facebook shows up as a contact. When I try to delete them, it says I have to go to Facebook and delete them as a friend. NO!!!! I don't want to delete all my friends, many whom are there just for Farmville and some are even cats and dogs! I NEVER want to call them or email them (some are on the other side of the world!!!). I just want them for Farmville friends and NOT to be on my phone as contacts!

How do I cure this?

Thanks!

That got rid of all that I sent Emails to, so that is fixed, but still have all the people on Facebook it won't show up as contacts in CONTACT REMOVER, yet they show up in the CONTACTS list. It keeps saying I have to get rid of them in Facebook to delete them. Some of the contacts are even DEAD people!

In order to not have all your facespaceitter contacts on your phone, you must not add them as accounts on the phone. Delete the account.
settings...accounts...facebook...remove.

If you want to follow facebook on your phone, download the facebook app from the market, look into Launcher Pro Plus, or find another, that way it won't add all your facebook people to your contacts (same for myspace and twitter). But if you want to use the X's blur option for those...you also get the contacts...we have not found a way around it except to not use blur.

You posted this link for me in a similar post I had. The problem is I have already done this. I have removed FB from my accounts. Alot of the contacts did delete. However, some stayed behind and I have no way to remove them. manual delete will not even allow me.
Thanks for your help. :)

Let me preface this by stating there may be an easier way, but this is what worked for me on my Droid-X. After removing my Facebook account, I also had some Facebook profiles within my "All Contacts" list that not even the Contact Remover app would remove. These contacts were not showing up within the App to be selected for removal for some reason.

So here is what I did:
1) Make sure u have all of your phone contacts backed up. If you already have them stored on your Gmail account then go to #2. If you were like me and did not, I had to export mine from the Verizon Backup Assistant online that I was using, and then import them into my Gmail account.

2) Once #1 was complete I went into Settings-->Manage Applications, and then selected the "Running" tab. I then selected "Contacts", "Contacts Storage", and "Contacts Data" and selected the option to "Clear Data" within each.

3) I then went to Settings-->Accounts and selected my Gmail account. From there I selected "Sync Contacts". Once this process completed, I turned my phone off and turned it back on, and the only contacts listed within my contacts list were my phone contacts...all Facebook contacts had been removed.

I hope that Helps :)

Like I stated previously, there may be another way, or an easier way, but this is just what worked for me.

Menu-Settings-Accounts & sync-Facebook-Remove account.

The will not delete the application from your phone it will remove only the account & sync'ed items which is ALL OF YOUR SYNC'ED FACEBOOK CONTACTS!

Problem solved!

If you then wish to re-sync your Facebook account, just remember to the uncheck the SYNC CONTACTS box. However this probably isn't necessary since you can still login just as you did before and view EVERYTHING ONLINE (including contact info) without taking up memory on you phone.

Let me know how this works for you.
