still waiting for the real pics of Nexus 1

I refuse to believe the pics we have all seen on the net can be the actual phone. Why would Google release an identical looking phone to an HTC release if it is supposed to be the end all be all...(at least for now).

The only difference it seems the N1 will have from the Bravo is...well...what?

A 3.7" screen, same
Android 2.1 OS? well...by time Bravo comes it it should have it, or will shortly...
FM Radio? nope...
1Ghz snap? oh snap, there too...

so why would Google sell the same phone and call it theirs? there has to be something else...

I'm still holding out for an HD2 size 4.3" screen, Snapdragon, OS 2.1...and all the other goodies...but better than the HD2...it would have to be better...lol.

I still feel that all the pics of the OS were just running on the dev phone for testing, and it isn't the hardware that will be released...

even if it is the same with a bigger screen, that is enough...but if Google wants to take over mobile communications...it has to be free of the regular carriers and setup something it's own...something you pay for data, but nothing else...VOIP has be bantered around, but I have to admit, I'm not too familiar with the technology, or it's viability to be a wireless communication alternative...

there just has to be more! yes, I'm very stubborn...I've been waiting for the Bravo/Dragon/Passion as everyone else has since late October as my NE2 has been up since Sept...cmon already...let's see the real thing!;)

frustration has finally set in.......rant over

I guess it could be a dev phone, but how would you explain:

- the name (Nexus One) and the fact that Google has trademarked it
- the Google support page for the phone
- why google.com/phone has a different 404 page than any other Google pages. (Compare with, for instance, google.com/hddhfghs)
- why DoubleTwist has added support for a "Google Nexus One" in its latest version (see here and here)

1-I dont think Google can trademark the name Nexus One as its something found within 2 copyrighted works. They need permission from the copyright holder to use the name. Maybe I'm wrong, but if I'm not either Google is either really dumb or its something else. But I never said it wasnt going to be sold. Before they're dev phones were released they were consumer devices (going by the release dates) this time its the other way around. Anyone willing to pay $25 and sign up as a developer can get a Dev phone for $400.

2-When was the google phone page made? Was it very recently or has it been there for awhile?

3-Why are there chargers available for the HTC passion? But how are they doing a beta for a system that has not been released outside of Google employees? or are they going off a hacked rom? Also the download link goes to their general download link aka the same file for any device you're using. Also if you want more traffic directed at your site wouldn't you want to use some keywords that were popular?

About the trademark: Google Trademarks “Nexus One” | AndroidGuys

I don't know when the page was made but it's obviously a placeholder for something.

The download link goes to to the general download link because there is only one version of the software, supporting all the listed devices.

Also, please don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing with anyone. I'm just throwing out a few thoughts.
