So my phone got dropped in the toilet on accident and last night the phone screen was blue and you could at least see stuff now it's a grayish color and can almost see nothing i did the verizon hard reset where u properly shut it down and take the batt out and hold the power button for 15 seconds and then put it back in and turn it on that did nothing i blow dried it :/ dunno if that was good idea or not and now since this morning I have had it completely shut off and havent turned it back on in at least a few hours i heard rice works so i think im going to go buy some but that pour alcohol into it im a lot skeptical that!!! pls help

did exactly the same thing with my old samsung rogue, dropped it in the crapper. I dried it off on the outside, took back and battery off, then set it on my microwave fan exaust for a few minutes to blow dry. Then i threw it in some rice overnight. Worked fine the next morning.

Just last night my wife spilled red wine on her iphone 4g. the home screen button didn't work. put that bastard on the microwave fan exaust for a few, then threw it in some more rice till morning. she texted me when she got to work informing me that it worked. Lucky her.

good luck, there are people out there that rice worked for. :D

A good alternative (better method, actually) than rice is to save up some of those Silica gel packs that often come with shoes and electronics. The little white bags are usually labeled DO NOT EAT. Silica gel is a dessicant (it absorbs large amounts of moisture) I save as many as I can and keep them in a cool, dry place. When one of my electronics gets wet, I put it in a box with the packets AND rice. Works very well.

OK... here's the little known secret that "water damage repair" companies use. Pull the cover of course, get some Electro-wash (what we use) and spray a few shots into the cracks/crevasses, USB port, etc. Don't flood it just get some shots in... shake well, blow dry with "canned air" and then (drum roll please...) 20 minutes in our Excalibur Food Dehydrator set at 125f degrees. We put 50 phones in at a time (at $129.00 repair cost each). Tada... instant "water damage repair"... box and ship back to customer... I know I know... how can I sleep at night right? Well, I sleep pretty good "repairing" 60+ phones a month this way. Enjoy... your mileage may vary.
