HTC - you used to be cool...

HTC is in all markets. They make great phones. Windows approached HTC about making a smartphone for their antiquated OS and they did. There is that small, uninformed sect of people out there that was waiting with bated breath for the new Windows 7 to appear, mis-guided as they are. Why not have a GREAT company like HTC to make the hardware for them?

Actually HTC is smart. They took on Android when it was still a fairly new OS because they probably had a good feeling about it. Look how explosive android has been since the G1 came out. They saw an opportunity to get in the Windows phone 7 OS early in the game, that was smart on their part. I do not like the Windows phone 7 OS im just saying they are smart. They are still making Android phones and will probably continue for some time. This was just a wise business choice for them. Remember its just business its nothing personal!

Some Windows products are really good. Their Live Writer is the best blogging tool out there. Their SkyDrive gives you 25GB free storage...more than anyone else. Personally, I prefer their Live Photo Gallery over Picasa. And, their Live Messenger is pretty smooth also, even though almost everyone I know is on Yahoo or Gmail.
And, no...before the Apple cult jumps on me, I don't work for MS. LOL

Dear HTC,
Windows? Really? What are you thinking?
You used to be cool? what happened?
HTC Mobile Phones - HTC Surround AT&T - Overview

The fact that you bring this up pretty late to the release of Windows Phone 7 reveals your lack of knowledge of what's going on. Let me first clarify that I have absolutely no interest in Windows Phone 7 as a personal tech choice, though I am a Windows (PC) user.

Windows Phone 7 is a "fresh" restart of Windows Mobile - they're totally unrelated. We all know the failure Windows Mobile was, and Microsoft attempted to throw all of that away and start over. HTC, as someone mentioned, has smartly gone ahead with Windows Phone 7 as they did with Android in its early (and buggy) days.

If you've been following several tech sites, Windows 7 has been received mostly positive reviews. Your criticism is akin to refusing to accept the success of Apple's products because of Apple III.

Also, you've clearly forgotten the HTC HD line of Windows Mobile phones.
