Help Not able to add or edit contacts

Assuming you are using gMail to store contacts, you should clear the Contacts Storage data on the phone and let the phone resync. I have seen cases where the Contacts Storage file became corrupt.

Make sure you backup your gMail contacts on the computer before you do this, just in case (though with the new Contacts restore from Google, you probably don't have to do this any more).

I was hoping to avoid that, but it looks to be the only option.

Not that difficult to do a complete wipe and reset. Once you sign into your google account and your phone starts up, go directly to the market and download your once previously downloaded applications. Do not back out of the market because the applications will only be there once and then you will have to search for the apps again. Then set your phone back up after downloading your applications
