Accessories Extended life battery

With moderate use, I can get 2-3 days of use with the extended battery. With HEAVY use, I still get an easy 16-20 hours. Of course, YMMV.

That sounds awesome....what were you getting with the stock battery? I still don't understand how some folks on here say they were getting 15 plus hours out of their stock battery with moderate to heavy use. How is that even possible?! Personally I think a lot of folks on here are full of shit, or their definition of "heavy" use is quite different than mine. I can't imagine my stock battery was that much different than most others....something doesn't add up. I love this phone to death and its probbly one of the best things I've owned, but I am flabergasted at the absolute stupidity of Samsung to put such a shitty battery into this phone. Its like putting those fakes plastic mag wheels on a mercedes S500

Probably around 5% - 30% at the end of a day with moderate use.

Remember, a LOT has to do with the signal strength in your area.

Well to give you an idea of the extended battery life; I got it yesterday and it had a little under a half juice on my battery indicator so I wanted to drain it before chrging. I put 4g, wifi, and gps on, turned screen brightness up all the way and put a youtube video on the whole time...it took 3 hours (give or take a few minutes) before the battery was completly drained. So I'm exstremely happy with that.. under half with constant heavy use netted me 3 hrs... I should get a minimum of 8-10 hrs of heavy off and on use if not more. The extra bulk dosent bother me in the least and it actually feels better to type on the keyboard with the extra bulk for hand placement in the back (and I'm not just saying that because I have the extra bulk now).

Got it from amazon...$56.00, its the siedico (spelling).

**Update on battery life*...I've been using the phone all day today like I normally do, and even more...played a whole album of music (40 minutes worth), have had istockmanager running for past 2 hours (streaming realtime stock app that usually absolutely kills my battery), have been on google talk for a good hour or more, sent/received about 20 texts and 10 emails, and I've surfed the web about 40 minuted. I still have over 3/4 of battery left...I'm absolutely amazed and relieved....being a very heavy user, my battery problems are finally over!! I reccomend this to everyone!

This difference in usage time could be due to many reasons;

  1. The definition of HEAVY usage is a relative term. Your little usage could be viewed by another user as heavy usage.
  2. GSM Signal strength in your area. I have noticed that a significant portion of battery power is consumed for keeping the GSM connectivity. Weaker the signal, the more power to be consumed by the handset to keep the connectivity.
  3. Difference between accessing 2G data network and 3G Data network. 3G data network will always consume more power than 2G.
  4. Screen timeout time. If your screen timeout time is long and you are a frequent user, then your screen could be burning battery power.
  5. Screen Brightness. Best is to set the scree brightness to 'Auto' so your screen back-light will adjust brightness according to the surrounding ambient light.
  6. Wifi usage. This is another battery killer. Best is to switch it off when you're not using Wifi.
  7. GPS usage. GPS receiver also consumes little battery power. If you have applications that use GPS frequently it could also contribute to battery drain.
Hope this helps!
