Linked Facebook Contacts - Updated Pictures?

For contacts that I have linked to their respective Facebook accounts, I had the phone import their Facebook default picture to use as their contact card photo.

However, once they change their default picture on Facebook, my phone never gets updated. It remains the initial picture that was imported, even if I go to the contact and tell it to update (which then gives me the option to use Birthday and Photo). The photo never gets updated though.

But... If I remove the Facebook link from that contact, and then link it again, their new Facebook picture shows up.

So my question... Is there any way this can be done automatically, without me having to do it this way? I'd like my contact photos to be updated automatically whenever they are changed (or at least have a set interval to check, like maybe once a day or so).

It depends on your Social Network update time. It automatically checks every 2 hours by default I believe. You can change it or check it by going to Settings>Social Networks>Menu button and press "Account Settings".

Thanks, I was looking for that. I see that this says it's for notifications though, and I currently have it unchecked. If I turn it on, will I get constant notifications? For example, when I click "update" on a contact, for a short while after that I get tons of notifications saying that people have updated their profiles and stuff, and it's pretty annoying. All I want is the picture to be updated, without it telling me. Is that possible? Or can you provide more info on this setting?

If you don't want the updates from it, then go to the Settings>Social Networks> and press on the Facebook one and press sign out, but you lose the contact photo updates also. If you don't get updated pictures as often as you'd like, you can go to People>Updates and Events and let it update. I'm sure it will assign their new display picture to your contact in the phone.

Yeah I think that's what I did, but then I kept getting tons of update notifications saying that everyone has updated their profile, or added new photos... stuff that even Facebook doesn't notify you about... it was really annoying

I know, but you gotta deal with it if you want the Contact picture.
UNLESS you have photos of each individual contact on your phone, on your SD Card, then you could just apply those and log out of Facebook through the settings.
But who has all that? xD

Haha, I actually did have quite a few, since my last phone was not a smartphone... But after I started loading them up and setting them, I determined that the Facebook link was much easier and faster

I just set mine to update once every 24 hours. That way I can easily clear the notifications once a day instead of having to do it every few hours and still take advantage of getting updated profile pictures.
