Help Galaxy hang on start-up ??? - cant get into recovery mode

Was working fine. Not done anything recently apart from download apps from marketplace.

Anyway - powered off and on and it wont start up now.

Samsung galaxy screen pops up, then the start up animation, then it displays the S in the middle of the screen and thats it.

Any ideas whats going on / how to recover?

Try the 3 button recovery first but if that doesn't work it's probably back to your carrier for a re-flash.
Mine did this (twas my fault though) and VF just re-flashed the firmware for me.

You mean the power on/home/vol down?

I was hoping I wouldnt have to factory reset and lose everything. Bummer.

Cant get into recovery mode now. Holding home/powerdown when i power on and it just does the same. Ignores and carries on as normal.

Yeh, 3BR didn't work for me either, I registered with samfirmware and down loaded everything to flash it myself but thought I would try my carrier first and they were excellent, they sent it off on the Monday and I had it back on the Thursday.
So long as they don't know/can't prove you caused the problem and it's not had a permanent root your carrier should re-flash it for you without question.
Just tell them the battery went flat and when you switched on after charging this is what happened..
