Im in the market for a new phone/ carrier. Here are my pros and cons. A little help would be great

Sprint- Best prices and decent phone
Evo- Great phone but getting up there in phone years and worried if sprint switches to LTE the phone would be worthless

Verizon- Insanely expensive but easily the best network and 4G
Thunderbolt- Decent but isnt it really just the Evo 1.5. Marginally better just on a faster network

ATT- In the middle as far as price but they have a bad rep and data caps
Atrix- Awesome phone specs not sure im big on Motorola UI and there phones in general. How is ATT going to have a phone this powerful on a capped data plan?

T-Mobile- Nada sub-par phones and refuses to do real 4G

So thats my list and i cant choose anyone care to help?

Your T-Mobile is wrong. They have (until the Thunderbolt, Atrix, and Bionic drop) 2 of the best handsets in terms of hardware out in the G2 and MyTouch4G. The network is sketchy, however.

My advice? Pick the strongest network where you are and then pick your phone off of that.

after researching the mytouch i dont understand why the EVO is so praised as the best android phone out.. hmm

Mostly because of screen size IMO as it has nothing else that differentiates it from the Incredible besides that. The MyTouch is leaps and bounds ahead of the Evo as far as CPU and GPU go. The styling is somewhat polarizing, but other than that, it is a very solid handset.

Always select the carrier first based on coverage where you need it. Do not rely on coverage maps or general discussions about coverage (e.g. "Verizon is better than..." etc).
Right. However I also select base on coverage map as I do a bit of jeeping so many times are out in the woods. T-Mobile is really bad in this regard.

None of the carriers have real 4G.
Right also. Only very recently that the ITU relented and said that all the 4G claims from the carriers are valid. ITU buckled due to pressure to sell new phones and service upcharges.

However HSPA+ is not just a little '+' from HSDPA. It is significantly better. It introduces MIMO and HOM support. With '+', they have moved to 64 QAM from 16 QAM, which means that a single transmitted symbol now carries 50% more data using the same bandwidth as before.

With MIMO and HOM 64 QAM, a peak rate of 43.2 Mbps can be achieved. With current SISO and HOM 64 QAM, a peak of 21 Mbps is possible. All these are significantly higher than current HSPA and HSDPA.

The HTC Evo is like a year old...and is still the best Android handset out right now. And Sprint (I have been on sprint for 12 years) has the absolute cheapest plans available (even with the 10 premium). Go Sprint, get an Evo (or EvoShift if you are that concerned about age) and be happy for a long time. Verizon's so called great network isn't what its cracked up to be. My roommate has Verizon and I have much better reception everywhere we go compared to him.

Sprint’s HTC Evo Shift 4G Gets An In-Depth Review / Hands On Video

That is interesting. Though I love the physical keyboard, it seems that the button layout on the phone can be a bit touchy...

I cannot stress enough what some have already said about carriers. I have Verizon. I just moved near my job. Guess what? I may have to go to AT&T for better service...

It was fine before I moved cuz where I lived at before, Verizon was better. I dealt with Verizon not being good at my job cuz it was good at home.

Luckily for me I have co workers that use the 4 major carriers. T Mo and Verizon aren't so good where I'm at. Sprint and AT&T are better. So for me, its the phone selection since I know which carriers are good in my area.

And today a co worker came by my desk to send text messages. (My desk has privacy) I have to go in the hallway or search for a signal by my desk to do that. She just sat down and started texting..She has AT&T.

I would hate to give up Verizon. But if I do leave them, its one year contracts from now on or retail if I can afford it. And rubiconjp made a good point. I stay near home alot so AT&T would be ideal for me. If you do go away from home at times thats something to think about too.
