Hi guys, been ages since I last logged on here, seen some old faces still posting and a load of new ones is that grumpy old git that will argue the same point your saying still here

My phones still not fixed but I have been offered a broken X10 cheap and it's the insides that have broken on that one so I can just swap it all around

But what I want to know from the gurus (lol used to be called one of them) is whats the crack with the latest roots and roms?

Bearing in mind that I was on a rooted and modded 1.6 and after playing with an X10 on 2.1 I never bothered to get it sorted and stuck with the Galaxy.

Had a quick scan through here but I'm being lazy here couldn't be bothered to read everything

So what's been made to work on the X10 now? Multi touch, better camera, anywhere near a working 2.2, is the battery better now does Barnacle still work on rooted 2.1-2.2 and if 2.2 is about and working does the Flash 10.1 work?

All of these are things thats stopped me getting my X10 sorted out but the X10 is still a sexy phone just still have a bitter taste in my mouth about SE and the X10 joke that was about false promises and lies.

Well Xda cracked the dual touch before sony did. Sony just released the official multi touch update. Im using Free X10 beta 4,its not to bad,the quadrant could be a little higher.
Almost all the functions are working,my biggest is the camcorder not working yet.It will someday though.
I do like the 2.21, especially with the apps to sd,that definitely helps alot.Flash works amazing,im having trouble using barnacle still,other than that theres some nice themes out there

Incorrect. Sony Ericsson released the multi-touch update in Japan first, that's where the devs on XDA got it from

Shame about the camcorder as Im always videoing odds and sods, and I use my laptop out and about so it was nice to have barnacle.

Cubz, thought you would have had more to chip in than just correcting somebody especially with all them links in your sig lol.

OMG PK! real long time no since since the death of your X

Well, as said before SE released the multitouch (well dual touch) firmware update, no major updates since 2.1. Xda has released a almost stable -still no camera- 2.2 rom and works on the same time on a working 2.3 mod also. Native tether is still a mystery even on 2.2

there`s so much to say about X10 since the release by SE.

Hey merolas, will be back just that I don't really miss the X10 to much apart from the screen size.

I'm bound to dick about with it and try a custom 2.2 rom but with no decent cam quality (it was bad enough on the stock rom) or teathering I think I will just go with a rooted 2.1.

Can flash be back ported yet or do I need 2.2

Why can't SE just give us the key to the freaking boot loader ffs! My next phone will be android but it will be one with an open back door, but saying that I know at least 10 people with android phone and only one of them bothers to update the phone and I'm the only one to tweak\root a phone. So the customisers are few and far.

OK so then another question...

Is there any cooked non beta 2.1 roms that just work well, or am I best of just installing 2.1 from before the root block. No idea of the build numbers but read that SE capped the root on the latest update?

So, what's best? I want to root and I want to have barnacle and anything else is a bonus.

To be honest I would like the video and camera to work well to as my last phone LG KC910 had an amazing camera and video could do 120fps and capture a drop of water falling into a glass or 25fps and do a very nice time lapse of, well stuff.

So camera is as or almost important as barnacle, and people dont react at the above as I have said before. The X10 has no cybershot or walkman logos so why expect great things?

well if you want good camera tis isn`t suit you best.
despite you were able to take 8Mpx photos you can`t take at HD

Sorry, don't really have much time any more with having a new baby boy I just pop on now and again to see if there's anything new

Besides, I preferred this part of the forum better when it had a small community, but now the community has grew much bigger, it doesn't feel the same any more. The main reason being, someone asks a question, you answer it and then someone else answers it after you with the exact same answer, so I don't see the point answering questions any more, if someone is just going to basically copy and paste what I put.


Anyway, I was on the FreeX10 2.2.1 ROM, as it ran much smoother, but I couldn't stand not having a HD camcorder, and not being able to use certain apps like google goggles. So I went back to 2.1 with a custom theme

But, 2 weeks ago I was getting a very low signal, so I shoved some metal wire in the external antenna and damaged it lol so it's been in for repair for the past 2 weeks. But i'm going to experiment some more when I get it back
