Anyone paying full price (about $800 w/tax)?

Anybody paying the full price? Time for the rich folks to rub it in ;) :)

$800 seems too high for a decent upgrade of the EVO, but a very nice upgrade with the $250 discount price :)

I got my Inc when launched, so still over two months before any discount from VZW. One year discount would not be much, so still not making sense to me to spend so much. Not seeing $600 (one year discount?) worth of upgrade compared to the Incredible. $250- yes, but not $600. $800 is pure nuts IMO.

added: Still wish they used ACDC Thunderstruck for the adds :)

I am paying full price ;(
I find it to be COMPLETELY worth it.
I absolutely HATE my Droid X (my first Android phone). I have gone through 5 replacements [for varying reasons], and still have the same "basic" problems which all seem to be linked to Motorola\MotoBlur, not Android.
The rest of my family has the Droid Inc, and have NO problems at ALL - which is why I cannot wait to switch to HTC.

They're still selling for around $300 on eBay.

I am absolutely NOT paying full retail. I'm selling my INC, which will basically cover the $250.

I'm seriously thinking of shelling out retail for the TB. I've had my X since launch day and I really enjoy it a lot (it was a HUGE upgrade from my BB Curve), but I'm more curious than anything about HTC phones compared to Moto. I have heard many good things about Sense and the overall smoothness of the UI as compared to those of us with Blur. I'm using LPP which makes the phone much more user friendly and attractive, but I guess I just have the itch for new technology. I'm also in a mainstream 4G/LTE city so I could take immediate advantage of the faster speeds. If 4G pricing stays the same as 3G, I'll likely take the plunge. I know I could get close to $400 for my X with my accessories on Ebay and I've heard that the retail price of the TB will likely be $649 or less, which makes the net price basically the same as if I was upgrading.

Nope... I see zero logic in paying $800 for a phone that is lacking a Super Amoled
(or better) screen, as well as lacking a Dual core processor! That to me is just plain insane, IMO it's not the money, it's the principal! I'll drop that much on a serious pair of Kicks that are pretty rare. But for a phone that is very very mass produced, and that's missing a few key elements...NO WAY!

If vzw bends and lets me upgrade early because of issues with my Fascinate, I'll gladly pay the $249 to grab it, and send them back my Fascinate all boxed up! Or if my friend at vzw can pull some strings...Otherwise, no way will I pay retail for this device.

Do you have to pay the full retail price even if you're a Verizon customer?

If you're not eligible for an upgrade you do.

I'd love to do a one-year contract, but that would mean waiting until September. Waiting until next week (hopefully) is hard enough.

I hope this near $800 price tag isn't going to be the norm for LTE's.

What a shame. My one year ends in September as well, and there's no way I'm shelling out $800. Maybe something better will come along by then, but I really wanted that TB.

I'm sure just like with everything once more of it is out and it is more common the prices will decrease. I mean if you look average phones used to be $400+ and they couldnt do half of what these phones can do.

Bestbuy aways seems higher with retail by about $50 for high end VZW devices. Something to do with an agreement with them. Same for TB? $800 out the door seems nuts, but appreciate other people's views otherwise. I bought a gtablet and 64gb iPod for only $30 less than that combined, so about the same cost.

The TB should be a nice device.
