I woke up one day to find my x10 wont charge, took it back to phones4you who plugged it in instore and it charged i was told to buy a new charger which i have but still no luck. It charges through the usb connected to my laptop. If i plug the cable in an iphone plug it charges but not very quickly. So i now have three chargers not which work and wasted money on purchasing a new one. Anyone else have this charging problem?

I think the water damage indicator is under the back cover above the camera lens? Mines white with 4 red dots, does this mean its been activated? It hasnt been anywhere near water. Im worried im going to have to pay for it to be repaired as my warranty may be void!

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I think high humidity or sweaty hands activate those dots! I've had phone dots turn red for no reason also. I've seen it admitted off the cuff that other things besides immersion will activate the dots. Officially, it will never be admitted. I've got an old Nokia 6085 that I bought refurbished (as a spare) and the water dot was red.
Have you tried various outlets with your charger? Go try in an outlet that you know works. Unplug a toaster, blender and use that outlet. If you saw it charging in the store, then I don't think it's the phone. Have you got anything else that requires a charge? Battery drill/screwdriver? Maybe an old PDA? See if they charge.

Hi, its definately not the charger or outlet. I already had two chargers admittedly one with a dodgey usb cable, but neither of them worked. I purchased a cheap generic charger that did not work so i purchased a brand spanky new sony ericsson plug and cable and it does not work in any socket or any combination of plugs and cables. They all work in the iphone plug and all work through a pc so i dont understand it!!!

Does the water damage indicator totally void your warranty?? I have been made redundant and do not want to have to pay the excess :(!!

I have got exactly the same problem with my X10 phone. I always make sure that my phone is no where near water or never touch it when my hand are wet. The indicator on my phone has four red dots and my phone won't charge. The light in the right top corner will flash red three times when I plug the charger in my phone and that's it.
I called my network provider (three) who I got my mobile from since my x10 phone is still under 2 year warranty and they said if the indicator has turned red or pink, SE will charge

The dots do not indicated water damage... the whole block would turn pink/red. I also moderate on SE forum and asked one of the answers team who assured me that he has various models either with pure white indicator or dots. So the image below is of normal water damage indicators.
