Help Autofocus... How do I manually focus???

So I'm taking pictures with the EVO to post here and while i'm holding the phone watching the autofocus do its thing, and when it finally takes the pic, its settles on a focus that is not as sharp as it could be. While it is focusing, there are moments when the autofocus will have focused perfectly but it keeps focusing past that point...

I looked through ALL the settings and couldn't figure it out... Is there a way to manually focus the camera other than physically moving the camera forward or backwards???

I may be wrong, but... I think you just touch/tap on the screen where you want the camera to focus.

Wow..... I feel slow lol! Thanx! I was fumbling through all the settings and all I had to do was touch the screen lol.

Its all good.. you can leave it in auto focus mode and do this as well. This method works in auto or manual mode.

it still would be nice to have manual control, i've had the tap to focus go wacky on close ups of smaller things

Another tip, if you want to take better clearer pictures, avoid the shutter button, simply just hold onto the area of focus, and it'll refocus again but much better and then takes a picture.

There's no way of manualy focusing the camera.
Tapping for focus is assisted auto focus

well, you can turn off autofocus in the settings
then press/hold focus...but as for fine tune focus, no there is no way.

Hello!
Perhaps the settings from within the camera app itself?
Not sure what android version the Evo was on when this thread was started, and may or may not be present depending on what version you are on.
If that doesn't work, perhaps a different camera app can allow manual focus.
