Hi

I have just made a 'homemade' car docking cable, when i plug the phone into the car it fires up the car mode fine, turns on the bluetooth and connects to my alpine head unit.

Is it possible to when i unplug the cable make the phone exit car mode and turn the bluetooth back off. cus at the moment i have to manually exit car mode and turn the bluetooth off.

I really just wanted a way that the car mode and BT is on only when im in the car, and its back to normal when i unplug it.

Thanks very much

Matt

Hi.

As a fail safe, I don't actually think that is possible. However, I don't have a car nor a car dock cable, so I can't test this out. But from my knowledge of the program, it automatically will detect when you are in the car, but due to security purposes and the fact that cables can come lose during driving and that you then don't want to lose the car mode, I don't think there is an automatic "disable" of the car mode, but I am not entirely sure about this

Hi Matt,
I'm interested in how you got car mode to come up automatically in the first place and also what cable you've made. I used to have a Nokia N73 (come back, all is forgiven) linked via bluetooth or cable to a Nokia BT car kit and that worked flawlessly. I could press the button on the dash, speak the desired name and it would dial. Oh god it was lovely.
My DHD will link via BT (just) to this car kit but never goes into car mode. It will receive calls and divert through the cars speakers, but that's all.

Does your navigation come through the car too? My N73 used to mute the stereo to give directions, so you always heard them.

[rant] Come on HTC, pull your thumbs from out your backsides and catch up with 6 year old Nokia technology will ya? [/rantover]
