Android 2.x on Galaxy

QUERY:
Firmware upgrade for Android 1.5 Cupcake
Sir,
I had purchased the Samsung GT i 7500 smart phone in June 2010, It is preloaded with Android 1.5 cupcake operating system.
Google had recently launched the new version of its Operating System as Android 2.2, and many new application are based on this OS version and are unsupported in Samsung GT I 7500.

Thus its utmost important to have the latest firmware upgrade for the phone to use. Kindly release the upgrade of its OS from 1.5 ver to 2.2 at the earliest.
Also the bluetooth function in aforesaid phone is non functional Please suggest the wayout for it too.

Thanks..
Pulak Gupta

Yes you've done a factory reset so it's wiped everything. You'll need to reinstall your apps and resync your contacts again.

Why did you do that if you didn't know what it would do?

Okay it's Sam*censored*. :p

P.S.: can't wait to see how long they're going to support Galaxy S, and what quality support it will be
maybe until they put on market a new Galaxy

of course effing of course :) that's why i'm moving from my i7500 to nexus not long from now. too bad it got discontinued, but maybe google'll bring it back seeing how it's ultra-popular among the devs buying all the stock recently

Agree dude SAMSUNG has a very bad policy of not supporting its new phones.
Galaxy immediately comes to all of our minds. A brand new phone; infact I guess Samsung's Entry into the Android phone was through Galaxy. Sad it got stuck on 1.6 Donut. On top of it Spica I heard has officially got the 2.1 upgrade. What a differentiated treatment.

Its younger sibling Spica was not available in many places. Reason given by Samsung - Shortage of stock. WTF !!! How can you run short of a new phone.

I got that phone and had some issues with it. ( Actually in my state of inebriation inserted the microSD card in the SIM Slot). The Samsung Support team here could not sort the issue out. They refunded me the amount around 3 months later.

Well I think both the Galaxies were pulled out of the market to make space for Wave in particular. Wave was a direct competitor to Galaxy 7500 ( Almost ) and SAMSUNG feared cannibalization of the Wave and with it The Newly Launched BADA OS.

I sometimes pity the Galaxy S. Such a good phone and how can one forget a flash. That device which is the flagship device of SAMSUNG should have a Xenon Flash in my opinion.

So Samsung is not playing its cards well.

I hope the Galaxy S does not receive the same treatment as the Galaxy

it's not discontinued. they simply stopped selling it on the internet, but you can get it through usual retailers. what's more, there will be a SuperLCD version of nexus this fall.

two questions: do you guys think that we should not worry about future updates for nexus? and is replacing amoled with slcd an upgrade at all? i read some opinions, saw a video comparison and some photos, and i'm still not convinced

did they finish that firmware for galaxy?

mater im sporu -.-

Who??? Sam*censored or Drakaz Team?
If Sam*censored then that's a big NO. Drakaz Team already released Froyo (Android 2.2) for Galaxy, but it's still a nightly release, so don't expect any official support (always wanted to say this line, take a guess from where). But the nightly works like a charm (at least for me it does :p ).

And please no curses to Drakaz Development Team. He isn't paid to do it for us (unlike some Sam*censored lazy asses  ), he does it for our growing community. ;)

Relax dude!

I'm using the latest version of Drakaz GAOSP Nightly. I'm having problems in downloading anything from the market. I don't know what is the problem, it just tell me that the download failed.

I tried downloading from YAAM, and had the same problem, but i recevied the message that download failed because disk is full.

But i have 6 GB free on my internal card!

I have the samsung i7500L. Any ideas? Any help?
