I'm having problems with my text message notification. It's working, but it's working twice. I downloaded Handcent about 1 1/2 weeks ago and I love it, it's great. However, when I get a text message I get notified twice. I assume Handcent and whatever text message came with my rooted ROM are both still operating and doing what they are suppose to. How do I stop the other one and only have Handcent notifying me?

I'm using Dark Android Blue on Liberty 1.5, rooted of course

A little more info on how to do it. I love handcent and had the exact same problem.

Open your app drawer

Scroll down to the second app that is notifying you (probably the stock text messaging app)

Push the Menu button (bottom left of the phone)

Select "Messaging Settings"

Deselect the check box next to where it says "Notifications" under the menu heading Text messaging settings

Should do the trick, led my sister through the exact same issue the other day, so I'm pretty sure it will do the trick for you.

Go into the settings of the other messaging app and turn off notifications that should fix your problem.

Ok, thanks you two. I guess it wasn't the stock app. I think it was the pop up setting in my in Handcent. I did also turn notification off in the stock app, that's probably the second notification I was getting. I didn't care for the pop up box either, so I turned that off.

Thanks guys.
