Hello all.I'm new here but have had an evo since the begining. I just installed handcent the other day and the smiley and emoji plug ins the next day.My question is on the smiley plug in...I did not notice any more smilies than I already had without the plug in,how do you access more of them?

And on the emoji...I can send to iphone and they recieve it but I can't receive from I phone?I have sprint and I am texting to att,if that matters.

I get 17 available with or without the smilies plug in installed

They are not standard smiley's :)
You need to select Emoji smiley's. You should check that the Emoji plug-in is installed correctly.

Emoji works if i pick it from the three choices, but only others with handcent can receive them..What's the point.I can send to iphone see my first post. What is the smiley plug-in do if your talking about the emoji smileys?

Correct... only other phones capable of receiving Emoji smiley's (such as those using Handcent with the Emoji plug-in or iPhones) can fully appreciate them.

Personally, I don't bother with the Emoji ad-on/plug-in.

I think your missing what i asked at this point.I have 2 Plug-ins,smiley plug-in and emoji plug-in. I know what the emoji does and can use it to freinds with i phones, can't receive emoji from them but thats a different point.

I want to know what the smiley plug in does.Is it supposed to add more smileys than handcent only?I have 17 smiley choices with plug -in installed or uninstalled,What does it do?It takes up space on my phone so it has to bring something to the table but I can't figure out what.

I do appriciate you responding :)

Sorry , I misunderstood your question (it was midnight almost here when I replied).

The other smiley's plug-in (not Emoji) I assume you are referring to are the "Handcent Smiley's Plugin (Android).

To quote from their Market description...

"This is stock android smileys plugin for Handcent SMS ,if you are using some android phone (for example: Droid X ,Droid2,SE X10) that didn't include stock green android smileys icons but you want to use stock green android smileys ,you can download it and apply from handcent settings->application settings->smileys settings."

In other words you are just replacing your stock android smiley's with.... well.... stock android smiley's! :)

This is why you notice no difference.

Hope this helps. :D
