Adios Evo, Aloha Nexus S

Whoops. Sorry. Thought you were the OP because of the way you counter-argued my comment about his list being more like an iPhone.

To you: Nevermind (haha).

To the OP: I stand on my original reply. It sounds to me like he'd like an iPhone.

Lol. Not much. I can't stand Steve Jobs' attitude, which completely permeates all of Apple's products. Not open, not kind to developers or its customers. I also am VERY happy with Sprint and have no desire to get lost in AT&T or Verizon's huge customer base.

I really didn't start this thread to flame the EVO. I got mine on June 4, 2010, and have been mostly happy.

There are just a few features I'd like better.

Long live Android.

And 3D...let me stretch this here even further...ALL 3D is a fad feature.

I'm an avid videophile...LOVE movies. Hate theaters and hate 3D. Frankly, I don't see a purpose for either. I have a home theater -- why would I want to go out in public, pay through the nose for tickets and snacks, and watch a movie with 200 strangers annoying the crap out of me while I'm trying to watch a movie? Now, why would I want to do all that and deal with the nuisance of 3D, too? I already wear glasses, why would I want to wear a second pair of glasses to watch a movie full of gimmick shots/scenes of things poking me in the head?

99.9% of the people I know who own iPhones, Evo's, or any other video capable phone don't even know how to get a movie on the phone, and they sure as heck aren't going to sit down and watch a movie on their phone for 2 hours (if they're battery can even do that). So, really, what's the purpose of 3D on a phone?

It's a rhetorical question -- Because HTC can, that's why. That's the very definition of overkill. It's not needed, but because you can do it, you're doing it. You don't need a Ferrari to commute to and from your 9-5 job, but if you had the means to get one and drive it for that commute, you would. Hell, I would. That doesn't mean it's not stupid....and overkill.

As someone else in another thread stated, I think 3D is at the awkward stage not quite being the dominant force but still getting more and more popular, like puberty. Some of the stuff I do would greatly benefit from 3D enhancement to really give a person a good idea of the speed, distance and size of jumps I do in MX or how massive and steep some of these hill climbs I compete on are. The main problem I have is I dont have any other 3D capable items like a laptop or a TV so it would be confined to this little screen not really doing the 3D justice.

I think something like this would be cool in 3D
