Help Serious problem with my Droid affecting ALL aspects of my phone use!

Hi Folks,

I'm relatively new here, and new to smart phones as well. I'm really hoping you all can help me with this.

I've had the Moto Droid for about 4 days now and I'm experiencing constant use. I mean all the time. I can't put the damned thing down. My wife is coming to dislike it and the kids know that when the Droid comes out, my attention wanders away.

I'm constantly installing apps, checking mail and in general playing with the phone. Even at work I'll sneak a tweet or two, read up on new apps, etc.

Will this constant use decline with time? I was thinking it would, but 2.1 is coming out soon and god only knows what THAT will do to my Droid use.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Ben

Send me your phone number so I can have my wife call yours. Maybe they can start a support group. LOL.

My wife was fed up with me being on the laptop. Now if I am not on that, I'm on the Droid.

She's gonna kill me one of these days.....

Lessee ... I currently have almost 150 apps installed. Which means I've probably downloaded 300 and dumped half of them along the way. I've rooted my phone. Learned to create nandroid backups. Edited the notification bar, changed icons, deleted stock apps. I've been thru 5 different firmware ROMs (at least). Added multi-touch to the browser and gallery. Worked with 2 devs on how to improve their apps. Written a skin for one app. Created my own custom boot animation. I have remote access to my home's network. USB tether. WiFi tether. Twonky Server. Gmote to my home's media server. I've learned some Linux along he way. And just today, I installed Sweeter Home Preview 2 and can't wait to get home and spend all night tweaking that!

Yea ... no worries. You'll be sick of it soon! :D

Nah, married for almost 10 years now. She's survived my water cooled PC phase, my Talisman board game phase, my iPod touch phase and my ZZ Top Beard Phase (ongoing). I'm sure we'll make it through. :)

Besides, I still may try to convert her.

off topic but.....

TALISMAN! Holy crap, I know about 5 people that have played this in their lives. I played this when I was in 8th grade during "activity days" at my school! Brings back great memories!

I played it mostly in High School. And much to my wife's eternal horror, they reissued the 4th edition (you can get it on amazon.com) which is pretty darned good!

To bring us sorta back on topic - is anyone making a Talisman app?

Twins!

OP - in my experience it lessens somewhat...I'm at about two months since purchase, and my usage has fallen to under 20 hours a day. So there is hope. ;)
