I've successfully rooted my HTC Desire. Installation of Gingervillian ROM in the rooted desire is also successful.

I followed the following posts of SUroot. Thanks a lot SUroot to make this thing too easy to say.

I followed the process described by SUroot line to line. So, I faced no problem and fortunately I didn't found any unusual things during the operation.

I already restored all the apps (by Titanium), SMS (by SMS backup and restore) and contacts (by android's Import/Export feature). ;)

But..

It seems a little bit slower response than previous. :(
I'm disappointed after checking the score (only 711!!!) at Quadrant Standard benchmarking app.

It would be very helpful for me if I get some suggestion to improve the performance of my Desire driven by Gingerbread.

I used 'Restore all apps with data'. All the apps were installed one by one by taking consent from me (install "Yes"/"no"). I did not install some of them those I did not require anymore. Is it an issue?

I don't install everything from my backups if I no longer need it.
Should go through the backup and clean it up but cant be arsed yet.

The quadrant means nothing. It takes into account, 3D graphics, which are not optimised on Gingerbread roms yet.

Do I have a hunch that 3D graphics will be optimised once the 'official' 2.3 update for the Desire is released?

as in...once HTC release it to everyone, will the Rom developers then start using the optimised code in new releases such as Oxygen, GV, Leedroid etc

The gui allows you to move apps (en masse, not individually), dalvik, and tweak memory management. Not something you'll use everyday, and other apps/terminal can give same functions, but it seems quite convenient.

If you add your kitchen mods to a theme chooser theme you can carry that over between versions, no need to wait for uot to get the new framework.

drain feature? care to elaborate dan..;)

HTC Roms are designed when hitting 100% charge and remaining connected to power for 2 hours (I think) to rapidly drain 10% and recharge to 100%. This repeats until disconnected. During this drain / recharge period, the led remains green.

Aosp Roms don't give us this awful feature (and some custom sense Roms patch it to prevent) however aosp Roms tend to go green at 90%.

Could be coincidence but I think its related
