Sorry guys I know you probably heard this million and one time, I am new to this and I neeeeeed help pleaseeee. I looked over many videos and threads I can’t find a definite answer anywhere. I am concerns with doing the lax fix...

1. Which one (lag fix) really does work?? I looked through, there are like a dozen of them some said not to do any anything but increase the quadrant number other claim to improve data transfer speeds. I am so confused

2. My biggest concern is the battery life. My vibrant barely makes it through the day of use; sometimes I have to charge it at 5pm. makes me believe that lax fix will decrease the battery even further. Is this true?

3. If an official update will arrive in near future like for froyo of maybe a different operating platform that will fix all of the problems. Will I be able to remove the root and convert to the official update??

First. Lagfix is a old name for file system change.
if you change file system your phone will be faster.
People that tell that its not needed anymore dont know what they talk about.
A good file system do drain less battery then stock file system also.
But the biggest battery savings you can do is to use a custom rom and a custom kernel.
Both of them is more optimized then stock and do drain less battery, but will be alot faster and smoother then stock.

Try EXT2 or EXT4, it's deffo worth giving it a go to see if you notice the difference. I get <1% battery loss per hour while the phone is on standby which by smartphone standards is pretty decent...
Quadrant scores are irrelevant, if your phone runs smoother then who cares what the score is.
And finally I don't think Samsung is moving away from their proprietary file system however you can flash updates quite easily through CWM.

thank you for your response, i thought i would drain more battery like any overclocked cpu does. but i wasnt sure if it would be worth it. do you know if one can flash to back to original.

But from what i hear i believe it is worth lag fixing it, it gets choppy sometimes.
