So I went ahead and moved a few system apps to a storage folder. The phone sped up like never before. The orientation shifts faster and the phone handles better.

I moved the following apps and associated odex files where applicable:

Samsung Keyboard
MetroWeb
AllShare
GMail
Memo
Metro AppShare
Messaging
My Files
AccuWeather Clock
Touch Wiz
Write & Go

How did you move these apps in to storage, and how my RAM do you know have free on your phone

Your phone must be rooted in order to allow this. After root, simply download super manager, give super user authorization, and cut/paste unwanted apps from the /app directory to one on your sd card or computer hd.

Like I always say, cut/paste is better then delete... just in case.

Also, I assume the raw android home would be used after removing Touch Wiz. I am not 100% sure because I use Crazy Home instead and had it installed prior to removing Touch Wiz. I recommend installing another home app prior to removng Touch Wiz, just in case I'm wrong.

Good idea to try and remove some of them. You can get a rough idea of what is running with three tools included on the phone - Task Managers "Active application" tab, The "Running Services" app and the running tab of "Manage Applications." I dont know why you have to look in three places but you do.

I would like to suggest the "SDX Stock App Removal" program, its only 22kb! The interface is very plain but it gets the job done.

They also published a list of apps that are safe to remove. Its not entirely accurate for our phones but gives a good starting point. http://wiki.sdx-developers.com/index.php/Safe_Apps_to_Remove

Thanks to ciper, I added a few more unneeded app and odex files to the removed category:

factory test
android live wallpaper
live wallpaper picker
touch wiz wallpaper
vpn services
wlan test

Total space removed so far: 31.4MB.

Not bad for removing Samsung crap.

Would it be ok 2 just paste them in the file ( External Sd) or should I just make a new file?

Word of warning. I strongly suggest having at least TWO alternate launchers installed prior to removing touchwiz. I once had a hiccup with go launcher ex and switched back to tw home to fix it. This experience made me realize that the default android home launcher is NOT installed on the phone, and not having an alternate (more stable) home to fall back to can be a REAL pain.
Final word, get two, use one, setup the other but leave it alone as a backup and prevent yourself future headaches later on.

I think it's a good idea...

I have noticed Crazy Home FC once or twice and then reload straight into Crazy Home again.

One thing I have to say though: The difference is noticable on this Indulge between having TouchWiz installed but not used and having it removed. I would install Android's core home before letting Samsung's crap bog down their otherwise decent product.

Touchwiz is not just a launcher. It is integrated into the system and provides other functionality. When removing that APK you are only removing a portion of the TouchWiz "suite"

Btw you can remove email as well. It is the app that allows you to access alternate mail accounts and doesnt affect the functionality of Gmail.
