Root stuck on the firmware update pg

please help?
i have no idea what to do.
and nothing is working. i was trying to reinstall stock and
i was rooted with icarus installed

That means you used the volume up, end, and power buttons. If you are installing CWM Recovery, you need to use the volume down, end, and power buttons. If you are trying to install a Mod, such as Icarus, CM6, or CM7, then you need to use the volume up, make call, and power buttons.
Remove the battery for 20 seconds then try again.

Installing Stock is like installing CWM Recovery I believe.

yes you are correct...fastboot the ascend and run the recovery script and your phone will automatic reboot once it finish...
