Root .595 Leaks (There is now no path to the OTA from GB)

Not sure why, but the apps did the same on my market, but that was b/c they all tried to automatically install at once at the moment I first opened market. I cancelled them all. THen downloaded each on my terms and had zero issues.

As far as your 21 hrs of battery use and left with 70% life... what are you complaining about:thinking:

21 hours? I'm talking about 2 hours. Woke up at 7:30, battery is at 70% by 9:30.

I've already flashed back to .591.

I was still 'full' at noon yesterday and right now it's just after 9am and it's already at 70%. I'm going back to .591 asap.

I assumed you havent had a charge since noon that prior day. But you gotta give it more time than that mayne! 595 "stocked" most ur setting right? So everything is more than likely pushing and syncing and shit. All those widgets steady trying to get data.

I've been reading and haven't seen anything. Can you SBF back to Froyo from the GB .595? If so, there is a path to the OTA. It is just a long and convoluted path that will lose all of your data.

I didn't think the .595 came with an 'upgraded' bootloader, as the version is still 30.04.

Edit: There is a post over at MDW;you can get the OTA if you are on any of the GB leaks by SBF back to Froyo (don't forget to wipe data/cache).

So there is a path, it just it not a nice and neat one.

I'd rather stay on .595 rather than get the incremental update of .596 and lose root.

Losing root for me means terrible battery life, no backups of my apps, no ability to tether in emergencies, ads all over the place, and bloat up the wazzoo. There's absolutely no features that the OTA may or may not have that would be worth it.

Actually I think this path is very nice and neat, and not difficult.......but that's just me.

There is, but not from GB. It seems to me that I'm going to wait for P3 and gang to root .596 ota. I'm happy with what I have now. I don't see a reason to d/l the ota if it's not rootable.

I agree with you, I'm in no hurry for rootless .596 :D

But by the tone of P3's tweets, it seem like it may be very difficult to root this one..........we'll see.

i think he is just being cautious and covering his own ass personally...it may require another 3 step process or something like that...but they will find root within a week maybe of the OTA launching...

Ever since the first BG leak mmy phone won't stay shut off anymore. It self boots after sitting for some time. It irritates me so much I pull out the battery before going to bed now.

Thought I was loosing my mind, but I have been noticing this as well. I can't take my phone into my building at work so it spends the day in my car. Since it gets a little warm out there, I turn it off while I am at work. The last two days when I went to leave I noticed the phone was back on. I have the uptime widget and it looks like it turned back on after about 10 minutes of being off.

Very strange...

It... is... ALIVE!!!

That's just crazy. I would be freakin out. Don't be evil indeed. It's watching you, the Goog wants to know what you are doing at all times. lol
I never turn my phone off, so I would never see this type of activity. But yeah, that's kinda creepy. Good luck, hope to hear from you again. :p :D
