Broken Dinc to X back to Dinc! Craziness!!!!

I just wanted to share a funny/CRAZY story about my Dinc.

So I've had (and loved) my Dinc for over a year now. It's out of warranty and I've had NO issues whatsoever with her (yes, she's a her- there is no way a man would be capable of all she can do- no offense to the men, I love you, I do- but she is AMAZING.) I have NEVER had a phone this long. If they can be broken, I do the breaking. I love her. She's my BFF. I thought for sure I'd jump ship when iPhone came to Verizon, guess what, I couldn't do it. No way in hell am I leaving her.

2 weeks ago, I lost all sound from my external speakers. Just gone. No alarm, no ringtones, no video sound, no nothing. I tried everything, factory resets, tinkering with the Verizon techs, battery pulls, etc....I am not by any means a "newbie" smartphone user and relatively knowledgeable when it comes to smartphones. Verizon determined the speakers must be blown last Thursday, ok, great. They have no Dinc's available and I NEED a phone with external speakers. So, as a longtime Verizon customer, they agree to send me a Droid X for $99 and I do not have to extend my contract or upgrade date (I am not wasting my upgrade on a 4G phone without dual or a dual phone without 4G and to be honest, while nice and all, the TB is way too heavy!) Fine, I'll deal with that. How bad can a Droid X be?

Las Friday morning, a friend comes over, now mind you, the Dinc is working and all she just has no sound. My friend asks about Angry Birds and wants to know what it's about, I whip out my Dinc, and dear Mother of Cell Phones Gods- the sound is BACK!!!

Droid X arrives via Fed Ex 1 hr later.

Ok- I'm gonna try out the Droid X, a larger screen would be nice, and how bad can it be?

YUCK!!!! I tried to like the X, I really did. It was awful. I missed Sense. I missed being able to shove her in my bra when I had no pockets. I missed how nice she fit in my hands (I swear I had butter fingers with the X). I missed how smoothly she scrolled between screens. I missed all of her.

I tried. I did. I used that crappy X for 5 whole days. Tonight I gave up. I have my Dinc back and am so much happier.

On a side note though- the X works great as an iTouch! A $100 iTouch no less! All the games still work and as long as I use my Wifi, I have internet! Whoohoo! The kids can play on that instead of draining my Dinc extended battery. Win/win!

Why the sound mysteriously went away and returned, I may never know........

:)

But on a serious note, I really miss the DInc as well. I have ThunderBolt (not in a 4G area) and while it is a great phone it is not HTC Incredible... I am putting some serious though into reactivating my DINC, I miss my track pad :(

turn off the Tbolt, dial *228 and u can reactivate the INC in like 30 seconds, and vice versa, I do it all the time now with my inc2, I go back to the inc1 if i go to a concert or w.e. u dont have to talk to anyone, just know ur account password, and ur phone number lol

I don't think I could use a Droid X. I'm so used to Sense that when I try AOSP roms I always end up going back to Sense. Sense has ruined Android for me forever. :p
I will only ever be able to use HTC Sense phones.

Haha yeah man and that the fact that motor blur sucks... but I think with the bootstrap you may be able to get sence on the x. .. if we could I would be in love. ... maybe. .. NA probably. Not lol

Agree completely, I had the X for a year and just recently switched to the Inc. I am a big guy and the X fit nicely in my hand and I loved the huge screen, but I am getting used to the smaller screen of the Inc. Can't agree with you on the sense as I use CM7, I don't like sense, I much prefer vanilla Android. Either way the Inc. is a much better phone overall in my opinion.
