Right light on hero?

Forgive me if this question has already been asked, but I searched and couldn't find anything. What does the right light do on the hero? my left light blinks whenever i receive notifications, charging, etc..this is my second hero (with google) since the first and they both have the same issue whereas the right light doesn't light up at all. what is this used for and how do i activate it? thanks in advance.

It's not a light, but the light sensor for the auto-brightness feature.

thanks for the reply and the info. hmm..so there's really no use for this light if you have it disabled, correct?

EDIT: no use for the light if you have the auto-brightness feature turned off

I believe there are apps our there (like the Proximity Sensor app) that use the light sensor. It's nice to have it as a feature.

great app. I think you have to have auto-brightness turned on for it to work though.

i looked up the app but didn't fully understand it. i kno the moment turns the screen off when you're on a phone call, but does this app do the same for the hero?

I believe it locks the screen, not turn it off.
