Any idea on when it should be announced/launched?

If AT&T is smart, this is an LTE launch device, which means that July is likely the earliest time (LTE is rumored to hit NYC June 30th and LA in July). It would be a crime for this phone to come out and not be an LTE device.

They could actually beat Verizon to the punch with the first dual-core LTE smartphone (Droid Bionic will be Verizon's first with no clear launch date yet).

And for God's sake, put a decent battery in this one HTC. AT LEAST 1500 mAh, preferably 1700 or better.

There is no release or price currently known for the handset but when it is released it will be available from AT&T. It is however rumoured to be arriving in time for Christmas and should give AT&T a boost over the holiday season by which time its rivals with will have high-end HTC devices such as the HTC EVO 3D and Sensation 4G among their ranks.

I highly doubt it'll take that long. A summer/early fall release is likely to couple with AT&T's LTE launch. Making me think twice about getting a new phone!
