Will someone with an X2 confirm these bugs?

Will someone currently holding an X2 see if they can duplicate these bugs?

  • Dropbox - download a file from a folder, then try and long-press and do anything to another file in the same folder - it should force close
  • Android Facebook app - can't scroll to the bottom in the settings to change how contacts sync
  • Mototorch LED app - doesn't seem to work period...

There are others, but these are the most app-specific issues I've run into. Not a huge issue, but given that on every other Android phone I've owned to date (D1, Dinc, DX, Thunderbolt) I've never had these issues... and this is the 2nd DX2 I've had these issues on.

I don't think the Facebook contacts thing is a glitch. I wrote this is another thread but to sync FB contacts do the following:

Go to contacts
Hit the menu hard key
Display options
scroll down to FB
Check "All contacts"

As far as the other things, I haven't d/l'ed those apps yet. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same problem. Just tried your method, but to no avail. This seems to be an already common problem with the X2.

If it's not a glitch, it's definitely an ugly workaround. When you go into the settings in the Facebook app and scroll down, you still can see the heading "other settings", and below that should be the contact sync settings, but you can't scroll below the heading.

I don't think Moto (or any manufacturer) can make limiting changes to an actual app like that... unless they worked with Android to make the change (since the FB app is made by Android). But that seems awfully unlikely...

droid X2 will not sync facebook with contact. | Facebook

Just found that doing Google search. It suggests uninstalling and reinstalling, then making sure your FB account is actually on the phone. Then the method above.

New phone and there already has to be bugs. Good luck.

I gave this a go. It did something... but I still have a weird problem where MY contacts don't show up in the contacts. If I begin to type a name in Text Messaging it finds the contacts, but not in contacts, or search contacts. Ergo, the contacts that matter (not facebook people) are not there.

Moto sucks sometimes.

On the contact page, and the menu button, and then display options...there are a bunch of drop downs on what contacts to display, make sure they are turned on.

Make sure you have all google contacts synced as well. My contact syncs are checked as follows:

Google>System Groups>My Contacts
Preset (Verizon Wireless)>All Contacts
Backup Assistant (Phone)>All Contacts
Facebook>All Contacts
Phone-only (unsynced)>All Contacts

And the contact syncs work fine. When I uncheck Facebook, my current contacts maintain their FB info (Profile pics etc.)

Also bear in mind that this only resolves FB syncing problems, as far as editing FB contacts, I am having the same problem.

On the drop box issue, are you talking about downloading a file from your PC? Or your file folders on your phone? Im confused on the issue, how do you long press on something, then try to do anything to anything else, without finishing the long hold press function 1st?

Within the dropbox app on your phone, go into a folder, then long-press a file, then download the file. Then without doing anything else, try and download another file within that folder, or even just try and long-press another file in that folder.
