Root Has anybody found the Leaked Netflix App

So my boss has a DroidX, wanted netflix, installed, opens, says incompatible phone. He is not rooted and doesnt want to so no netflix for him.

The reason I bring this up?
On the allies I have tried the farthest I can get is a black screen... IDK how far you guys are getting, but I cant even get it to go to the spot where it verifies your phones model. On top of this as I mentioned earlier, Netflix would need flash or silverlight, neither will run on the ally. Dont get me wrong I would love to have netflix on the ally, I just think we are getting carried away. If you take a step back and think it doesnt look good for our device + netflix

The only reason I gave it a shot on my Ally was because they stated that someone got it to work on their LG Optimus V. Which unless I'm mistaken is an ARMv6.

I got it running on my bosses DX by giving him the OTA to GB early....

It runs choppy on a DroidX. There is no chance for the ally, you may be able to get color... But then it would run even worse.

Congrats on getting it "working" but I don't think it will get any better

Hey I am not complaining. LOL
I just wondered.

Well saying that I got it working would be an exageration. I just followed instructions and Poof there ya go. I just stood on the back of someone else who got it working and am enjoying its benefits.

Thanks for the Note.

I am gunna ramp up the overclock and see if it helps.

Savoxis Thanks for all you do Bro.

***Edit*** When overclocked to 806 It works much smoother. but Slightly choppy. Still black and white.

What's with the color issue. Is it just formatted for a different video gdi or what. Is there any conf files we can tinker with or is all the options built into the app with no video settings. I wouldn't mind finding out that we can lower the resolution lowering bandwidth and being able to change that and add color. Maybe its built for a specific processsor with hw acceleration like the hummingbird. Btw thanks to those that tinkered enough to make the app work. I will definatly give it a shot.

GOOD QUESTIONS!!
I unfortunately am not technicaly advanced enough to answer them.
Hope someone else that knows what they are doing could fix the issue.

but if not I am still very happy with it the way it is. Its alot better than not having Netflix on the phone.

I am actually surprised that it works. Happily suprised. :D

Thank you for your help and support. I did try the app that had no device check. It just gives me a black screen. If I let it set long enough it tells me to either fc the app or wait due to unresponsiveness I guess. I modified the prop file to reflect the htc vision and installed the 1st original app and got a crash back to the homescreen just aftr login. I'm going to try the other supported device and play with it between the 1st and second version. I may try the 3rrd fille listed on xda developers forum. This is awesome if I can get it to work. At least for watching my tv shows through netflix

This is the first time for me. I'm running velocity 1.1 so that might be a huge problem. I'm not real worried about it as I might be cancelling my netflix account anyways do to financial and issues streaming. I have to rely on 3g as my primary internet service as there is no other alternative other than satellite and I think 3g is faster. Normally netflix restarts the movie several times and makes the streaming process less tthan actually being able to watch movies and I think someone already pointed out that streams pretty much sucks anyways. Like looking through the b-movie section at the video store. I would like to see if it works though to show off the phone to friends. They all say my ally is pure crap and they all have thunderbolts and 4g whatevers

I don't know what they have. They use sprint and one of my friends changes phones it seems the same time he changes girlfriends(probably smashes them after an argument). I love this phone. It was cheeap and does all I need it to. But to stay on topic. Maybe I should wait for the awesome devs to come up with a workaround for 1.1. Maybe suggesting integrated netflix with 1.2 but it seems like more bloatware for those that don't have netflix.
Usually if the phone is over 50 dollars after a 2yr agreement I don't find a need for it. Its a phone and for me phone and internet bundled as I'm very frugal. When I walk I squeek I'm soo cheap
