Adhoc question.

Is there any app or instructions that can assist me with connecting thunderbolt to an adhoc network?

I highly doubt it. The radio chipsets in the Thunderbolt were made specifically for the 1X CDMA, EVDO, and LTE Verizon networks on specific frequencies. Maybe you could elaborate a bit on what you mean by "adhoc network" just in case i misunderstood the question.

I am rooted, here is the whole picture.

I have a 3 level house, my router is in the basement (I did that so it could be in the man room hooked directly to my xbox 360/ps3/slingbox/network extender/TV. My wireless signal is faint on the third level, for this reason I had Verizon run a Ethernet cable from my basement to my bedroom, my computer has a wireless card in it. I can setup the adhoc network but my phone doesn't detect it. I would like to have my phone connected through this mode so that I can have better wireless connection on the third level of my house (3g is very faint as well in my area, a lot of trees)

Can you share your computer's wireless connection and then try to connect your thunderbolt? I still don't understand what you would want to do with your Thunderbolt's connection that you can't do on your computer, unless you're wanting to download and play with online Apps. I'd personally rather use my computer to do surfing and online gaming.

The biggest factor is if your computer can share the internet connection that it's using and whether or not the Thunderbolt will see that as an actual connection. Also you can connect the Thunderbolt to a computer that's online and there's an option to use the computer's internet connection, but you'll probably have to configure the computer to allow for the connection.

I am a network admin, I am currently in the testing phase for a few programs/apps on android devices for our users and clients. One of the benefits of using adhoc is the ability to have a laptop act as an hotspot when only 1 Ethernet connection is available and also when service is bad (underground buildings), therefore keeping everyone connected. I think I found the solution, there is a post about editing the wpa_supplicant file in the system/bin folder. I will give it a try later. Thanks again for everyone's help.

p.s The client does not want to buy a wireless router and this is the environment they want setup.
