I got my Droid on Launch Day, November 6th, 2009 and it is my constant and trusted companion. But I'm looking SERIOUSLY at the Samsung Galaxy S II. Research it. I think you'll love it. If you don't get a Thunderbolt now, you can always wait for the S2. I know
I'm holding out
Ive had my D1 since day one as well and Im waiting for either the Droid 3(Only if it has 4g LTE), Droid Bionic/Targa, or the Galaxy S II.
have to agree with GSII on this one - thus far it looks to be the baddest phone out there. Of course, I still ahve until November to upgrade, so who knows what may come around the bend....
As with any digital camera, don't assume that the MP itself means anything regarding image quality. MP is just pixel count. There are many other factors that affect image quality that are not conveyed by that number.
Same as any other device selection thread: it's all about finding what's suited to your needs/wants.
+1. a 10 MP camera with a single ccd will not fare as well as, say, a 6 MP with quad ccd. the picture quality simply will not be the same no matter what.
and +5 on the second part - it's all up to what *you* need. Same as with kernel selection, rooting versus not rooting, ROM selection, app selection....
My OG DROID is currently running CM 7 nightly builds OC'd to 900 MHz - I have barely 4 MB free in System ROM space and keep around 30 MB free in app space. I push my DROID - hard - so hard, in fact, that I have to swap out my battery on a daily basis, sometimes even twice a day. I've definitely hit the bottleneck, and am anxiously awaiting the next big thing to get.
As I've stated in other threads, for me, it's all about internal storage, speed, and unlocked bootloaders (for rooting and customizing). After that, it's about HDMI output and the overlay (and more specifcially, being able to remove it - I hate Sense, I hate MotoBLAH, and i'm not too particularly keen on Samsung's overlay thingy either).
front facing camera is a whistle I can live without - and though I have said in the past that I can live without the hardware KB, I kinda like having it there when I need it, so that might later on become a deciding factor as well....
