I updated and now my LED doesn't light up for text messages or email notifications anymore. I use Handsent but have tried stock text program and it doesn't work either. I had to download light flow to get them back. Is there a setting or something I'm missing in gingerbread that turns them back on?

Thanks

Edit: Ok, for some reason the led for gmail started to work and it also works for the stock text program but I still can't get it to work for Handcent. I rebooted the phone to get it to work for the first 2, but I can't figure out what to do for Handcent.

My LED is NOT working. I've tried rebooting, battery pulls etc and nothing. I had SMSPopup installed when I got the GB update. I uninstalled it and tried the stock settings to see if the LED would work and nothing. I installed a different LED notifier, nothing. I reinstalled SMS Popup, nothing.
No LED , not even a charging light. Now I have to wake up the phone every time I'm away from it to see if I missed a call or text!!
So this is a known problem with the leaks that they didn't fix?? Lovely....any other suggestions?

This is gonna hurt to hear, but I would suggest a factory reset. That should resolve any wonky issues you are having.

I reinstalled handcent and my led is working now. Might be worth a shot.
I've installed and reinstalled 2 different LED notifier apps and nothing. I was using SMSPopup before and it worked great but not now.
I sure don't want to do a factory reset. I've never had to actually do one. Are there instructions here somewhere or do I need to take it into Verizon, if it comes to that ??

If you decide to do a factory reset (I did today, it's no fun) then with the phone turned off you just need to hold the home button and power button until you see the triangle with the android guy. Then you need to push both the up and down volume keys to get to stock recovery. Then you use the volume keys to navigate and the power button to select. Good luck.

Edit: BTW it cured all the problems I was having.

Are you using GB after the factory reset or the version the phone came with?

I got the LEDs to work for SMS (Handcent & GOSMS Pro). What I did was turn off any pop up settings. If the screen comes on when the message pops up, the LED will not blink when the screen times out. If the LED is blinking and I turn the screen on and turn it back off, that cancels the LED even though there still an unread message. Before Gingerbread, the LED would still blink even if you turn the screen on then off when there a unread message. So ya definitely a bug with the sms apps.

Note: I rebooting twice before trying this. So maybe rebooting a couple times helps.

OK. I am now officially PO'd!

My LED is tango uniform.

I Really Do Not Want To have to load an app to get what should be on the phone!

I Also Do Not Want To Do A Factory Reset! I've done 2 batt pulls so far and still no LED.

I was totally stock and took the OTA.

MOTOROLA, WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION? HOW THE HELL CAN YOU RELEASE A MAJOR UPGRADE WITHOUT A MAJOR FUNCTION OF THE DAMN PHONE EVEN WORKING?!
