Will an unlocked Thunderbolt works with AT&T's older SIM cards?

Good morning everybody...newbie here

I am seriously thinking of getting an unlocked Thunderbolt (old phone is realy OLD) and was wondering if it will work with my old AT&T 2G / 3G SIM card?

No.

The SIM card in the thunderbolt is only for Data LTE service. Not GSM Voice (AT&T)

The Thunderbolt has no GSM antennas in it, therefore there is no way to ever get it working on a GSM service such as AT&T.

You could probably use a Verizon Imagio, it has CDMA and a GSM sim card for world use. Probably would need to call Verizon and have it unlocked. Someone else on the forum should be able to confirm this.

I don't think it would work the droid 2 global has both GSM and CDMA radios but the GSM only works for global roaming you can't get it to work on one of the US GSM networks, even unlocked.

To the OP if you are going to be coming to VZW you get a sim card with the TB I know you are wanting to keep your contacts, you can check to see if there is a program you can get to hook your old phone up to your PC and get the contacts from the SIM to the PC then transfer that to the sim in the TB
