Root I need help unrooting my evo 4g im using unrevoked 3

I NEED HELP UNROOTING MY EVO 4G!!!! i rooted it like 2 months ago using unrevoked 3 not unrevoked forever and i want to unroot so i can get the new OTA that HTC sent to my phone. Now i already download the files unrevoked-forever-son-zip & PC36IMG files and the only problem im having is that it wont load into recovery mode. When i try to load it it gets stuck at the HTC EVO white screen...I never flashed a rom over i just rooted it using unrevoked...SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!!

You do not need to accept the update. There is a rooted version posted in the root sub forum above this general discussion area

Your recovery may also be missing or corrupt.

ok thank you. but i really dont want a rooted phone any more thats why im trying to unroot...but it just gets stuck at the htc evo white screen when i try and enter recovery mode.

We got screwed on the official OTA. It's really not all that. I know you probably heard this but its the truth, there are roms out already that put the official OTA to shame. I'm using MikG 1.03 and its the full Rom with sense 2.1 and a little 3.0 and plenty of extra tweaks to go with it. It also comes with the OTA kernel.

Yes 4G works fine in this ROM, all the cameras work... there are a few apps that don't work such as Netflix (Pandora is acting up to now). But this more than likely a Gingerbread issue w/ our EVO and not an issue with the ROM itself.

The battery life is still a little iffy... I've only been running this ROM for about a day, still trying to test it out. It seems ok, I haven't ran it all the way down from a full charge but I'd guess that I'd MAYBE get 10 hrs with moderate usage, which still leaves much to be desired. But with the way this guy pumps out new updates, once a new compatible kernal is available you'll be set.

Agreed, love it!! I feel sorry for all the stock Evos, they have no idea what they are missing.

im trying to flash the rom over and it wont load into recovery using the power and vol down method and i have rom manager and quick boot on my phone and it wont load into recovery mode using that method either..it gets stuck at the white screen

im glad that we convince you not to unroot. once you start to flash things you will get the hang of it. and i do agree that mikg is a great sense rom. so first off i would not use rom manager as it tends to be buggy. so can you still get into recovery? if not use the link that mr ed posted. i would suggest that you switch to either clockwork mod 2.6 or amon ra 2.3(the one i recommend). if you have any questions on how to switch recoveries please feel free to ask.
