Just got my Inspire ~4 days ago. How do I know if it's HSPA+ ready?

I've been reading around various reviews and, apparently, HSPA+ had been disabled by AT&T and toward the end of April, AT&T released an update to enable it. How do I know if it is enabled on my Inspire? I don't recall having installed any updates (other than one from HTC), and when I try to check manually for AT&T updates, my phone tells me that the AT&T server is unavailable.

well technically it was HSUPA that was disabled which slowed down upload speeds. HSPA+ was supposedly enabled from the beginning but it also requires that your area has HSPA+.
an easy way would be check your software number.
settings>about phone>software information
if you have the HSUPA update your software number should be 1.84.502.11

Ah, in that case, it looks like I'm good to go :)

Thanks!

You can manually check for the update by going into setting> Att software update > HTC WiFi update. Thanks should be able to get the update for you
thanks, but now I got a phone with the green robot and a triangle with an exclamation point. What does that mean? please don't tell me its bricked? The phone IS rooted, with a few programs like Asphalt gone, I did install custom roms 4 times and then uninstall them, please don't tell me this is bricked.

I pulled the battery and it did turn on, I'm trying again.

You may have a problem. I'm at work so I can't walk you through the solution, but go here - [GUIDE]Inspire 4G, Rooting, Flashing, Softbrick, Fixes, Sideloading.(4-23) - xda-developers - and read the General Fixes part. They offer solutions to apparent soft brick problems. Additionally, in the future, when you're posing a question, be sure to tell us upfront if you are rooted, as it makes a big difference in the response/recommendation you get back.

If you're still stuck, post back to this forum and one of the members will give you a hand at getting it straightened out.
