Root Apex vs Liberty (GB) - Compare?

i used liberty for a week
battery drains every now and then
no reboots
fast

i used liberty for about 2-3 days because cm7 is here for the dx and well
apex has great battery life
1 random reboot so far
the dialer has issues when entering in numbers once your already in a call, such as entering in your cell number or credit card, doesnt work properly
and apex is fast, just not as fast as liberty

but its all user preference, you need to try both to see which is better for you

I've used both and it's a toss up between the two as they are both really good ROMs. For Apex, it's closer to the AOSP experience than Liberty. Liberty (v7) has the white menu background and default keyboard from MotoBlur which is not a bad touch and more features with the toolbox. You can't go wrong with either one. Right now I'm testing out the CM7 Beta and will most likely flash back to Apex RC2. ;)

same here, im missing the camera, but cm7 is great, if more bugs are worked out, such as the gps issue and the camera, i will be one happy camper

Hopefully he becomes active again, I'm sure he's missed here, at least by a few ;)

It seems to me that Apex and Liberty have reversed from what their original conceptions were. Apex on Froyo was one of the few blur based roms. Now Apex is as close to AOSP as u can get with blur framework. Liberty started with a mostly blur-free rom on Froyo and is now (with the customizer included) is an awesome blur rom. Im currently on Liberty right now until CM7 has working camera and GPS (beta was great though). And I used to be a massive Apex fan, but now the blur I like has been stripped out (hdmi out, etc)... to each is out though. Both are great, just user preference.

Faber helped me out a lot when I first joined here, seemed like a good guy. I noticed he disappeared too, he needs to get back on here!

As far as ApeX vs. Liberty it goes to what Sims said, user preference. I liked both a lot, but to me on my phone it seemed like ApeX was more stable and had better battery life. Both are very fast though, both can be customized a lot, maybe easier on Liberty with the fancy toolbox. I also liked the ApeX look better, I usually don't theme much.

Now, I am on CM7.. I think I am good for awhile, I can do without GPS and camera.. I know where I'm at and can take pictures if needed with a camera. :D

I guess that's why I like ApeX more than I used to :D

I've always preferred blurless Roms such as Fission, GummyJar, RubiX, and Liberty 1.5.

I do like how the new GB blur isn't as intrusive as it used to be, but it still causes some lag; this is evident from the home screen redraws I used to get while on Stock GB, which I don't get on ApeX.
