Root Rooting Lg ALLy for DUMMIES... PLEASE HELP

I know nothing about how to even proceed with rooting my phone [lg ally], I have read countless threads about rooting, trying to find help (that I can understand) I am hoping some one can point me in the right direction and speak to me in a language I can understand.(I am completely illiterate when it comes to technology terms, linux, procedures, abbreviations, etc). I want to root my phone, but I would like to understand what it is I am supposed to do first. Can/will any one help me?

Okay, so that might not be the option for everyone, the All things root post above is what you should use.

Ok bud For you the easiest way to Root will be Super One Click.
If you want custom Roms. Use Rom Manager (downloadable in the Market) to put on Clockwork recovery then use the zip file to convert that over to Amonrah. This will allow you to backup your phone and install custom Roms.
